You guys know what, i hated STEAM for a while..... i got some help d/led steam_installer_CS deleted some regstry blog file and ta-da! it works fine, except fo rthe fact that it moved all my maps (or it clamied to) into steam, but whenever i play a map i havent played on cs but did in 1.5 it downloads it.

yay, csv1.6 is now runnin' the way i want it to be..so sometimes their servers may be down, oh wells, that won't happen anymore in the future...i hope. Also WON will definitely dissapear next week since the last steam update, so good-bye 1.5, all you steam-haters, whether you play 1.6 or not, you have no choice if you want to play counter-strike, just get used to the new m4/ak recoil and the new guns and especially the shield, now sit back and shaaddup, lose the petition, steam is already running fine now.

There are only two problems with 1.6



- 1 You can't mute people, or at least not through conventional methods, and ALL of the little 10 year old whinos who are up past their 8pm bedtimes are taking advantage of it.



- 2 The shield is still messed up. I just watched a guy take on 5 people with his shield and USP (left handed models) and then LAUGH, ask how the hell he did that, and then deny that there was any sort of glitch.

5 People going full auto on his ass, and he didn't take one hit. WTF is that?



Now, this was about Steam, there is nothing wrong with steam. Be patient and it will work. Frankly I hope this will weed out all of the little 10 year old pre-pubescent mother****ers who are too impatient to get steam working.

You can mute people: esc->player list->mute

OMG do u really think that if i change tru right/left model in my pc you will see it in yours??? what a n00b... its the same to think tha if i istall a model of an axe to replace the knife i will kill more than you with it!!!!

The thing is that if you use right model, the spec mode (with shield) wrongly shows it left, and vice versa, (if u use left it shows the right)



Changing subsect: I can play cs 1.6 and have no problem with steam to work, but still hate it... I HATE STEAM

phusion49 if your reading this, to get rid of the wrong steamid ticket u just have to delete the ClientRegistry.blob file from c:/.../steam then restart steam and it will update creating a new ticket, you should be able to play then. if ure not sure do like me and keep the file on your desctop, you never know. It worked though

Thank you. I totally agree. Isn't that what CS is about? Adapt to your surroundings and your environment to eliminate the other team. The shield is just another element, live with it.

The main reason people complain about the shield is because they don't understand the foreign concept of Team Work.

Take on a shielder with 2 people and it should be a piece of piss to take him out.

All you need to do is draw his attention with one person, and the other person runs slightly to the side and shoots him. Either that or you try the suicide tactic of running up to them and knifing 'em.

#117 theres definetely more than 2 bugs,for me, everytime i minimize cs in game its stuck at the taskbar and then eventually i get an error saying that its not responding, sometimes i can't see the voice icon on the right when someones talking, in spectator mode after i die sometimes all of my keys wont work and i have to hit escape and hit resume game for everything to work again and theres also tons more :\

also i've been thinking about it and i think valve should let 20 or 30 damage go by the shield only from the AWP, i mean, try going 1v1 with a guy with a shield when you have an awp. but hey i would still be happier even if they dont do this, thats my only complaint about the shield

Atleast it's SOMETHING NEW. Sorry guys, but I don't want to be stuck doing the same AWP vs Deagle routine forever. Valve is TRYING to do something now, instead of just fixing obvious bugs and then having the entire community moan without end about it. I am started to get sickin tired of this game, and these changes breathe new life into it, however unbalanced they might be.
