In an effort to not fracture the community, DICE is making the tough decision to not include a Season Pass for Star Wars Battlefront II. This comes from Battlefront II's creative director, Bernd Diemer, in a statement made at the Star Wars Celebration.
He notes that the "community is falling apart because there are simply not many people playing the different modes" and that they "definitely want to avoid that."
Don't get too excited just yet. While there may not be a Season Pass as you traditionally know it, doesn't mean there won't be some form of additional monetization. EA issued a follow-up statement to Mashable that should put some worry back in your minds.
Perhaps EA will make the move to using cosmetics for their additional monetization. Titanfall 2 did this very thing. Sadly, Battlefield 1 still included a Season Pass. It will be interesting to see what happens with Battlefront II.
"We decided on that, and it's one of those difficult decisions because it has so many implications all around," he continued. "When we looked at the way Battlefront had evolved over its lifetime, with the DLC and everything, we decided, 'You know what? For this type of game, season passes are not the best thing. We need to [take it apart] and come up with something better."

While we’re not ready to confirm any live service plans just yet, what we can say is this we heard the feedback from our Battlefront community loud and clear. We know they want more depth, more progression, and more content. So we’re focused on delivering that in every dimension of Star Wars Battlefront II. We’ll have more to share about our plans soon.
