  • Witcher 3 Experience Bug Won't be Patched Until Next Week

It seems as though CD Projekt RED kind of screwed up their last update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The latest patch introduced a bug that would prevent XP from being rewarded upon quest completion. The worst part is that the bug seems, at least to most everyone talking about it, to be quite random.

People have suggested that you'll be fine if you avoid doing story missions and focus only on sidequests, while others say that isn't true. Simply put, there is no clear cause to this issue and it could happen at any time. So you either play with that knowledge and accept whatever happens, or you wait until Monday when the patch to fix this is supposed to start rolling out.
We would like to let everyone know that we are aware of the XP glitch players are reporting and we are working to have it fixed as soon as possible across all platforms (Monday for PC & patch 1.04 on consoles in the following days).

At the same time we want to shed some light on the issue. First of all, it doesn't impact the game balance in any significant way. Also, you will be able to finish the game with your character achieving a level within the threshold we had in mind when we designed the game.

We hope this clears things up a bit. Again, rest assured, we won’t stop working on improving the game and there are more patches coming in the near future.

They also note that the lost XP will not be added back for those quests that you finished during this bugged state. They also mention that the bug "doesn't cause too much experience loss in the long run" and suggest that if you want to play this weekend, you should do so. It's up to you, of course.
