  • Lost Planet 3 Developer Spark Unlimited Shuts Down

Spark Unlimited, the developer of Lost Planet 3 and Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z has reportedly shut down and all employees laid off.

CTO at Spark, John Butrovich, confirmed that the studio is no more. He also confirmed that the studio's President and CEO, Craig Allen, resigned from his positions late last year.

A free-to-play title that the studio was working on has also been cancelled along with other projects. Founded in 2002, the studio's first game was Call of Duty: Finest Hour.

Best of luck to all of those that have been hit with layoffs.

I don't know if they have anything to do with Lost Planet 2, but that was such an amazingly great underrated game! Very awful PC port but the game had so much fun and varied content that it compensated for it. One of the best coop experiences I've had!
I don't understand what was the genius idea of making LP3 into a casual boring shooter

      LP2 was all Capcom.
I uh.... i liked LP3 the most, lol.

The quality of the studio's games is questionable, but it's always a shame when a dev has to close down.
