  • This 40 Hour Long Heathstone Turn is the Dumbest Thing Ever

Someone is attempting to do a single turn in Hearthstone that will take 40 hours to complete. This will be one of the dumbest things ever attempted but I can almost guarantee that you'll still tune in at least once to see it out of morbid curiosity.

Normally, a turn in Hearthstone is supposed to only take 1.5 minutes to complete. However, due to the nature of the game design, that time could be extended if an animation is still playing. Therein lies the base of this exploit.

The short of it is that a couple of people kind of gamed the system a bit via cardsharing. One of the two players ended up with nine copies of Arcane Missiles. These deal three damage by firing missiles, as you would expect. The person also has 206 copies of Velen's Chosen, which increases spell damage by one, thus increasing the number of missiles fired from three to four. They then apparently filled the board with seven copies of Prophet Velen that doubles spell damage. A quick bit of math there all boils down to a total of 26,752 missiles being fired from each card... one at a time. The estimated time for all of them to be fired is around 40 hours.

How isn't the other player dying immediately? They played a card called Ice Block that keeps them from dying until the next turn. After all of the missiles are exhausted and the 40 hours have elapsed, the other player will die not from the missile assault but from fatigue damage. This is where the player has exhausted their deck of all cards. If the player attempts to draw another card, it causes 1 point of damage to the hero. In this case, with the player only having a single HP left, it would kill them. What a way to end 40 hours of a relentless assault.

So that's where things stand right now. The two are already about 6 hours into their epic fight, which you can catch a glimpse of below.
