  • Weeks After Release 343 Industries Starts Up Beta Test for Halo: The Master Chief Collection

Halo: The Master Chief Collection has been out now since November 11, 2014. That little details isn't stopping 343 Industries from launching a new beta for the game! Yep, the studio is starting a new beta test group for upcoming updates for The Master Chief Collection.
In recent weeks, we have been conducting extensive internal testing of an upcoming content update for Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Given the scale of the update, which includes changes to the matchmaking experience and party system, we are expanding testing to include select members of the Xbox One Preview program to ensure the official release is the best possible experience for all players.

The content update beta test is open to Xbox One owners within North America who have a copy of Halo: The Master Chief Collection and have opted-in for Xbox One beta testing as part of the Xbox One Preview program. This is an opt-in opportunity and the content update will only be made available to selected participants within the Xbox One Preview program, based on the highest levels of engagement with Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

All joking aside, beta tests for patches are not a rare occurrence. This is certainly a good move on the part of 343 in order to ensure that this and future patches are as bug free as can be prior to the masses receiving it. The Halo Waypoint has an extensive FAQ set up to explain what players should expect from this beta and how to participate.
