Atari is Going to Reboot Alone in the Dark Franchise Yet Again

Back in 2008, Atari published Alone in the Dark, a reboot of their popular horror franchise. It did not really fair too well with reviewers or fans and the reboot never really took off.

Fast-forward to 2014 and Atari is again announcing they are going to reboot the franchise... again.

Next weekend at PAX, Atari will officially announce revivals for two classic franchises. One is obviously for Alone in the Dark and the other is for Haunted House, a game last seen on the Xbox Live Arcade in 2010. The website for Alone in the Dark notes that the game is called Alone in the Dark: Illumination and that it will be released this Fall.

The publisher did not reveal any additional details, presumably saving the most juicy bits for PAX Prime, which begins on August 29. It does seem very odd that these two games came out of nowhere and are already slated to be released in just a few months' time.
