Sony Says Roughly Half of All PlayStation 4 Owners are PlayStation Plus Subscribers
During a recent investor meeting, Sony's Kaz Hirai said that approximately half of all PlayStation 4 owners now have a PlayStation Plus subscription. With over 7 million PS4 consoles purchased, that equates to about 3.5 million subscribers to the service.
At last check, the attach rate for Xbox Live Gold subscriptions was around 30% of all Xbox owners.
Also during the meeting, Hirai mentioned how Sony is already turning a profit on PlayStation 4 hardware sales. This is a sharp turn from this past September when Sony Japan said that they would be selling the PS4 at a loss.
