Halo is Coming to Steam

The Halo franchise is headed to Steam! Though it probably isn't one of the Halo titles you would like to actually see on the platform. Instead, next week will see the release of Halo: Spartan Assault, the top-down action title that paves the way for the Spartan Ops game mode in Halo 4.

Halo: Spartan Assault brings the excitement of Halo combat to Steam for the very first time.
Battle your way through 30 action-packed missions against the Covenant as you explore the origin of the Spartan Ops program featured in Halo 4.

Earn Steam achievements, complete missions and compete against your friends for the top scores in the leaderboards.

It also includes weekly challenges, controller support (in addition to mouse and keyboard), Steam trading cards, and Steam achievements. This is a pretty big difference here because the Windows 8 Store version of the game is still tied to Live and that achievement system.
