Starting roughly 30 minutes ago at 9PM (ET), Grand Theft Auto Online was taken down for a 24-hour long maintenance period. Not much about this maintenance was revealed to the public, though there is much speculation.
Some feel that this is the period in which Rockstar will remove much of the ill-gotten gains that many players have accumulated in the previous few weeks. A variety of glitches and hacks pumped billions upon billions of in-game currency into the game, allowing players to purchase cars, clothes, and apartments without a care in the world and without having to grind out low paying missions.
We'll put up another news piece after the maintenance is over if there are any significant changes made.
