Microsoft Offering Gamers with Defective Xbox One Consoles a Free Game

Microsoft is offering those Xbox One owners that are experiencing the faulty drive issue a free game as a way of apologizing. Polygon received a forwarded email detailing the offer.

The email will let users download either Dead Rising 3, Forza Motorsport 5, Ryse: Son of Rome, or Zoo Tycoon for free.

"While a replacement console is on its way, we want to ensure our advance exchange customers can stay in the game," a statement from Microsoft said. "We will provide each of them with a free digital download of one of the launch titles published by Microsoft Studios."

This free offer does not apply to any other hardware defect outside of the faulty disc drive issue.
