    Warhammer Online Shuts Down

Warhammer Online is officially calling it quits from the vast world of MMORPGs. In what may be the final post from the game's developers, Mythic offers their thanks to the fans of the game that will cease to exist come December 18, 2013.
"Unfortunately, as with all licensing deals they do eventually come to end and on December 18th, 2013 we will no longer be operating Warhammer Online. As such we will no longer be selling 3 month game time codes or have the ability to auto renew your accounts for 3 months as of September 18th, 2013."

"If I were to list out all of the great experiences I’ve had with you, this would be a novel, so I want to say thank you from all of us to all of you for sticking with us so long. Even when you didn’t like the changes, even if you thought we made mistakes. The community made this game possible."

You can read more over at the Warhammer Online website.

MechWarrior Online will be next to make a near-identical shutdown notice if the developers can not convince the hardcore audience that they are addressing or have addressed their concerns (3rd person camera was only one aspect addressed). I haven't played Warhammer Online, but judging by the words "when you didn’t like the changes, even if you thought we made mistakes," I'm wondering if Mythic Entertainment suffered the same issues with their community? And by issues, I don't mean lack of communication, but I would say lack of convincing perhaps?
