    QuakeCon 2013 Tournament Lineup Revealed

Like tournaments? Like QuakeCon? Like watching tournaments at QuakeCon? Then boy, do we ever have the news post for you!

Bethesda has revealed the tournament lineup for QuakeCon 2013. It's got Quake, it's got Doom, it's got more Quake. It's got a little bit of everything (assuming "everything" is Doom and Quake)!
    THE QUAKECON 2013 TOURNAMENT LINEUP:
The Intel QUAKE LIVE Duel Invitational Master (official rules, register here)
The Intel QUAKE LIVE Duel Invitational Masters Championship will feature known professionals and top QUAKE LIVE competitors in an exclusive tournament. Up to thirty-two (32) of the world's best QUAKE LIVE players, hand selected by tournament staff from the open online registration, will face-off in the 1 vs.1 duel for $18,000 in a double elimination bracket, with each match played in a best-of-three-games format. With two competitors remaining, thousands will gather to watch as these two best-of-the-best survivors go head-to-head in a single elimination, best-of-five-games throw-down with a $9,000 check written to the champion.

QUAKE LIVE Clan Arena 3v3 Open (official rules)
The QUAKE LIVE Clan Arena 3v3 Open will feature 3 vs. 3 competitions for up to thirty-two (32) teams battling it out in a single elimination bracket and best-of-three games format, with the two top teams advancing to a best-of-five Grand Final. Teams who come out on top will share prizes of $6,000, including $3,000 for the team of champions.

DOOM 20th Anniversary Challenge (official rules)
The 20th Anniversary DOOM Challenge will feature old school DOOM II gaming. Battling for a share of prizes, including $1,000 for the champion, players will compete in sixteen player Free-For-All matches that will qualify 32 players for the single elimination bracket, where each match will be played in a best-of-three-games format.

    Registration Information
Those wishing to register for The Intel QUAKE LIVE Duel Invitational Master can do so at tournaments.quakecon2013.com.

Did you get all of that? Good. The registration for the Quake Live Clan Arena 3v3 Open and the 20th Anniversary Doom Challenge is a first come, first served deal with on-site registration only.

Any reason for the name change from Zips? I know it's unrelated to the newspost, but the timing of it happening is about the same.

Doesn't seem like he does. Also, my quota for PM's was increased (and increased for all members as well).

LOL, poor K. (haha por que?)

Zips said why in the off topic section just a few days ago. I was surprised you dont go into that area.

            That's all.

I ended up getting the sinking feeling because I sent the private message LOOOONG BEFORE catching on to that obvious fact (even though that was already pointed out in the earlier comments). Zips has effectively repeated what you just said in a single link.

... Dang it. To the off-topic forum I go to de-ignorantify myself... Sigh... Dang it... Thanks to the both of you for repeatedly pointing me where I could've answered my question. And for the sake of mentioning the elephant in the room, no I don't explore the off-topic forums aside from the topic I created, and the "This Place Is Dead" thread (only earlier today; I'm not following it). Anyways, since I derailed the topic I'll steer it back on-track.

I'm glad the Doom 20th Anniversary Challenge is using Dwango5Map1 (Entryway) for the Duel Bracket, but I don't really understand why they would use Judas - Barrels 'o Fun because I thought the appeal of that map pretty much goes away in a single shot. I also kind of wished the top prize would be more than $1,000, given the person went through 128 players to get first place. Oh well, for the sake of reliving nostalgia, I guess it's worth it. I also didn't know about Odamex until this newspost brought the rules to my attention, so that was a nice bonus (been using the Doomsday engine for multiplayer before knowing about this).
