New Call of Duty: Ghosts Gameplay Footage Focuses on Riley the Dog

The dog has a name. It's Riley. I know a dog named Riley. So, this game just got a whole lot more awkward, especially when they attempt to kill off the dog near the end of the game (we all know it's coming), but then bring the dog back for one last triumphant return to save the day right before your character gets shot/blown up/set on fire/etc. at the end of the game.

But hey, that's not the point of this. The point of this news is that Activision and Infinity Ward had a lengthy pre-E3 showcase of gameplay footage today for Call of Duty: Ghosts. Join Riley the dog and some humans as they kill, swim, bark, sniff, and lick their crotches on the way to victory in these two videos.

I await the bonus twist where Riley is actually a brainwashed spy and it's you that has to kill him. Only you fail to do so but it's that shock of near death that knocks the brainwashing out of Riley and that's when he comes to save you at the end of the game... Only he's mortally wounded in the final fight. He licks your face one last time before dying in your arms as you lay on... oh, let's say a bridge. Camera pulls back, fade to black, credits roll.

Infinity Ward, if you're hiring, you just got yourself a new writer.

Nothing like a heavily compressed, 720p video to show off the "new" graphics, and a heavily scripted, linear, "follow me" stealth mission that we have seen in every single game ever to show off the single player.

Hmm... I prefer snowmen and bears in my shooters.

Also Zips, you should pitch that as an Old Yeller modernized reboot film; should make more money than what Activision would pay you. Call of Duty: Old Yeller Warfare... Has a nice ring to it.

I don't think the gameplay footage has been officially released yet. It's my understanding that these gameplay segments were merely recorded from an earlier live stream from Activision/IW. Though I could be completely wrong.

(Not like the visuals, esp in that first video, look any better than current gen/current PC Call of Duty anyway...Unless that was current gen they showed off for some stupid reason.)

OH MAN! Did you see those FISH move out of the way on that list video! It's like they were real fish! Mind = blown

Also, bullets have NO affect under water at that distance. those better be special thin bullets or they just made the stupid shooting underwater thing even more foolish.

That is an underwater rifle though. But I haven't watched the videos yet because if its not Battlestar galactica its not worth watching to me right now until I finish it.
