Report: 58 Leaked Screenshots and Information from Battlefield 4 Alpha Build

What you see below is reportedly from an alpha build of the Xbox 360 version of Battlefield 4. All I know is that I first saw this on Reddit and all of the screenshots apparently have the name of the person who leaked them, Mystogan.

The information gathered from the screenshots has been lovingly compiled courtesy of Reddit.
    Things noticed:
    • 5 man squads
    • Knife and grenade customization
    • Variable zoom sights(14x)
    • Battlepacks
    • A redone squad spec system
    • Something which looks like limited ammo for the MBT.
    • Looks like vehicle gadgets and weapons only need to be unlocked once, or the name for the vehicle could be missing in the alpha.
    • HUD customization
    • Two sights on the same weapon?
    • The map is called Siege and takes place in Shanghai
    • Possibly an working elevator
    • Pistol Customization
    • Barrel Customization

    Confirmed Weapons
    • CZ805
    • M9 Sidearm
    • The Scout Elite Sniper
    • The SV98
    • The QBU-88 (Which means we can expect to see the QBZ back as well)
    • The Type 88
    • QSZ-92
    • Ultimax-100
    • CZ3A1
    • Knife

    Confirmed Sights
    • PKA-S Holographic Sight
    • The ACOG Sight
    • The Kobra Red Dot Sight

    Confirmed Classes
    • Assault
    • Engineer
    • Support
    • Recon(Has c4 in BF4)

    Confirmed Vehicles
    Confirmed Equipment
    • C4

    Confirmed Specializations
    • The Offensive Specialization

    Confirmed Attachments
    • Laser Sight
    • Tac Light

    Confirmed Vehicle Equipment
    • HE SHELL
    • IRNV OPTICS
    • ZUNI ROCKET PODS
    • GUIDED MISSILE
    • ANTI-AIR MISSILE
    • BURST SHELL

    Confirmed Multiplayer Maps
    • Siege(Takes place in Shanghai)

    Confirmed New Features
    • Dual Sights
    • Battlepacks(will probably contain camos and dogtags)

And, of course, the screenshots in question.

Please note that we have no idea how long ago these screenshots were taken, nor can we vouch for the validity of them or that things seen in these shots will make it into the final game.

Hmmmm. It looks a bit more finished than BF3. I dont mean everything, I just mean the cleanness of the kit layouts and the hud.

IDK, doesnt seem like a lot of changes overall. It's still very early though.

Not very many changes from BF3 but I'm fine with that. As long as they don't do this every release, I'm okay with two straight releases being similar.

Unless it's a member of the development team acting on their own, there is no collective development company that would willingly release screenshots in this very unfinished state.

So unfinished it looks like BF3. Well, everything I've seen yet makes me think this is just BF3.5. Because it is, it's really just bf3 with new/different features. I want to see something inovative/revolutionary

Come on, even the "Alpha Trial" watermark is the same from BF3...

Well think of it this way, 2142 didn't look drastically different from BF2 (for a game set in the future) and BC2 barely looked any different from BC1. Even Vietnam had some similarities to 1942 if I remember correctly, but it had the advantage of requiring more jungle environments. The art style tends to stay the same for around 2 years.

Also if they're still going for an "authentic" art style there isn't a lot they can go from there with the current Tech. /DiceShill

Honestly I'm hoping DICE would reconsider their stance on their use of color grading. That would somewhat be a noticeable change for BF4 compared to BF3.

While I'm usually a Dice Shill around here I hope so too. So much potential towards the current FB engine. They shouldn't waste that.

You mean the Engine. The thing is, from 1942 to vietnam the setting changed, so a lot of features changed too (I could name all of them but I'm pretty sure you know where I want to go). From bf2 to bf2142 the setting changed, so a lot of features changed too, making it feel like a different game.BC 2 was included on pc while bc1 wasn't, so to me that was the "Big" thing, having a multiplayer fps game with destruction. I was just something I hadn't seen before. From bc2 to Bf3 the setting was a little bit different (more serious/realistic) and a lot of things where brought back from the old bf games. The feeling of the game, even though it's the same engine (but a different version) changed entirely.
From bf3 to bf4? Well, we have new maps, new weapons and 5 man squads. Isn't that great? These new features are all things that could have been included in bf3 in a patch/dlc and it would still be bf3 because the changes aren't that big. I know I am just judging these few features from leaked screenshots, and we haven't had any official word on this yet, but if I don't see something major happening in the gameplay I'm going to be extremely disappointed. You know why? Because I've seen patches for games changing more and including more features than this whole new game.
If they had made BF2143 I wouldn't be complaing because that would have forced them to do tons of new work, including new models,sounds,textures,animations.... and that would create a new experience, such as from bf2 to bf2142.

I think they already have. Did you see the last few DLCs for BF3? There was almost no color grading in those, and the maps looked beautiful. I think realized this and hopefully will carry that over to BF4.

I must assume this comment was placed pre-levolution trailer. Colapsing a 100 story building is not BF 3,5 that must definately be BF 4.

I need a new PC in October.

Collapsing one building makes that BF4? Collapsing lots of buildings and lots of roads on lots of maps will make that bf4 for me. If that's the only building that falls (similar to caspian's border tower) then I'm still not satisfied. As I said before in another thread, remember what they showed when it was for BF3? They showed the metro map, the part where the planes roll in and destroy the ground creating an opening to the metro. That was friggin great but you know what? it only happens on that specific map. There are no more cool-cinematic-in-game-multiplayer moments like that one. ONLY on the map they specifically chose to show. That's why I am still not satisfied.
