    Kiefer Sutherland Confirmed as Voice of Snake in Metal Gear Solid V

    During the ongoing pre-E3 2013 event for Konami, Hideo Kojima has revealed that the voice of Snake will be Kiefer Sutherland.

    Sutherland was the star of Fox's popular 24 series. He is also now apparently the voice of Snake in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. You know, this is still Kojima we're talking about here so something is probably screwy here.

    Could it be that Sutherland voices Big Boss and Hayter voices Solid Snake and they have a big battle at the end or middle of Metal Gear Solid V and you play out the rest as Hayter's Solid Snake?

    David Hayter did immediately take to Twitter after the announcement. Either it's a jab at Konami or he's obviously in on the secret.
    Ah well, Can't fault @RealKiefer Great actor, good man. The game will probably still be excellent. Like New Coke!

    Or they pull another Metal Gear Solid 2 where you're Sutherland as Big Boss for the first fifth of the game with the rest as Hayter and Solid Snake? Or the complete opposite?

    Come on, it's Kojima. SOMETHING ISN'T RIGHT! THERE IS A TWIST! ... There has to be a twist. Damn you Kiefer Sutherland. Damn you Kojima. Damn you... ;_;

    Technically Mr. Sutherland is still the star of 24, since we'll be getting a twelve episode one-shot series of 24: Live Another Day next year (24 franchise showing only 12 hours in a day and skipping its original 24 hour format, but retaining its title of 24, so 12 in 24); apparently the movie planning completely fell through, so we're getting this instead. The FOX network also said depending on the success of this series, we may get sequels as more one-shot series (FOX did point out 24 as a franchise). Unlikely for Mr. Sutherland to be in a sequel given his age though.

    Anyways... I read your personal tweets Zips, and I must say your reaction is surprisingly calm and collected, because I feel (not felt, feel as in right now) very naseous and really want to vomit right now. I know it's not the coffee I drank earlier (it's damn good coffee cleanly prepared in a suitable environment), and I haven't eaten anything yet today. The last time I felt this way was when I failed a course at its most critical timing (you know when schools offer courses at certain semesters and you have to plan out how to get it all in a year?) extending my stay for another year and a half and missing the last convocation, as well as all my friends (we studied out of town). I swear it's the biggest heart sinking feeling I'm having that's causing my nausea, and I think I need a restroom break after typing this. Actually I'm going to go do that.

    And Mr. Hayter, I really thought your earlier tweets were hinting towards a satisfying announcement. Now your tweets are confirming it's over by thanking us for your support after being "fired." Ugh, this really is going to be like New Coke isn't it? Fixing something that was never broken... So now the only thing we can associate him with is writing and directing. I guess I'll check out his Wolves movie. I heard it's good.

      I HATE IT I HATE oh wait it's Keifer Sutherland?

      I'm annoyed, at myself mostly, i love MGS, i love Snake, i love Hayter, i also love Keifer Sutherland, i don't know if i should be angry or not, either way in an industry full of bad choices this one isn't anywhere near as bad as it could have been.

        Honestly, I think the reason why I'm (clearly) overreacting is because none of the pre-E3 information is what I wanted to hear (aside from the PS4 following Microsoft's footsteps and using the x86 architecture), so it's been one dissatisfying news after another, accumulating until my stomach simply couldn't handle it. I really didn't think I would end up being naseous to the point of rushing to the restroom for relief.

        Through no real fault of developers, manufacturers, and E3 itself, I had more simpler expectations and found out almost none of them were met thus far. I guess I'm incapable of accepting disruptive changes in the industry (I'm trying to remember what my reactions were when the Wii/Oculus Rift was first announced; might have been negative for all the wrong reasons). And I apparently found out that if I get a sinking feeling in an extreme way, I will be sick. I hope that never happens again.

        (I drank more coffee, and no reaction to my stomach happened. I know it's not the coffee that caused the nausea from earlier.)

          I am a huge fan of the show 24 so I think this is good news about him being the voice of Snake.

              And this is why I keep telling people to stop believing the bullshit from Kojima.
