Well we still have the high-res GIFs or video loops for options. Just uh... Make sure nobody speaks or makes sounds that conflict with what the camera is seeing. Oooh ooooh I got it! Wrap an Oculus Rift around the Kinect! Turns out VR headsets also double as security interventions!

I say get a broken kinect and cut the wires off. Cross the negative and positive to complete the circuit, making it always on.
That would work.Twitter: @CptainCrunch

Except when it doesn't return a video signal.
Except when it bounces off the flat image or gif.
Etc. Etc. Etc.Comment

You guys are being silly about being exploitative, the easiest exploit is move the kinect away from the TV and have only one person sit in front of the kinect and everyone else sits between the kinect and the TV.Comment

Wide angle lenses for the Kinect 2, still probably won't work.
This thing can tell emotions, your heart rate, the stress on your muscles, it can tell when someone looks away, it's got better night vision than the Paris Hilton sex tape... and you guys are thinking up ways to try and deceive it that won't work.
Short of having some sort of living room ghillie suit, it's probably going to be hard to fool this.Comment

I'll start buying carpets that match mine and use them as camo blankets for my guests.
I will also spend this time until the console's release to redesign my couch, to accommodate one more person than what it was designed for, without the Kinect noticing.Comment

Unless it's panaromic, it more than likely sees somewhere between 120, 130, or even 140-150-ish range in front. Even if it sees 180 degrees it still can't see behind it.
I still say the 'sit between camera and TV' would work, assuming the cord is long enough or you could find a way to extend the cord.
Then again, I have no plans on ever owning one much less watching movies on it.Comment

Just put a picture of Gary Busey in front of it. The sensor will break and let you go on with your life.
Seriously though put a magnet next to it and some duct tape over the sensor.
Also, $20 to the first person to convert the sensor to look like GLaDOS or a turret."We're all very different people. We're not Watusi. We're not Spartans. We're Americans, with a capital 'A', huh? You know what that means? Do ya? That means that our forefathers were kicked out of every decent country in the world. We are the wretched refuse. We're the underdog. We're mutts! Here's proof: his nose is cold! But there's no animal that's more faithful, that's more loyal, more loveable than the mutt." -John Winger (Bill Murray) StripesComment
