Xbox One's TV Integration Only for United States at Launch

It has been confirmed that the most talked about feature shown at the Xbox One reveal event today, the system's integration with TV programming, will be available only for the United States at the console's launch.

A global launch is expected "over time" for this service. To make use of it, the Xbox One must be attached to special third-party boxes offered by providers via HDMI pass-through. These boxes will be sold separately from the console itself.

I have to say this is one of the cooler features of the new Xbox. Yet buying a new box and having to have the Xbox on all the time while watching TV isn't really worth it when I can just hit the source button on my remote anyway.

Can I buy half the console at a lower price? I don't really need anything beyond Netflix, Crunchyroll, Twitch, and YouTube so far.

I live in Canada. So how do you think we canadians are taking this news? You know what? The smarter canadians already knew that this would only be available in the USA. This is because there are only 2 or 3 major television providers in Canada, and they are constantly fighting to keep it that way. Canada is a near impossible market to enter for in the internet/TV space. GL MS. Your betting on a market that only thrives in USA.
