
In recent weeks, EA has aligned all elements of its organizational structure behind priorities in new technologies and mobile. This has led to some difficult decisions to reduce the workforce in some locations. We are extremely grateful for the contributions made by each of our employees – those that are leaving EA will be missed by their colleagues and friends.

This comes less than a day after reports that EA was shuttering its EA Partners program. The Partners program was used by EA to publish titles from studios outside of EA's ownership including the Orange Box from Valve, and titles from Epic Games, Insomniac, and Respawn and included games such as Bulletstorm and Fuse.
This also follows the resignation of EA's former CEO, John Riccitiello and the near complete shut down of EA Montreal earlier this year. In addition, EA has also laid off a number of employees from its mobile division in recent months.
This comes in the same month that EA was voted the Worst Company in America by a Consumerist poll.
As of last year, there were over 9,200 employees working at EA.
