Call of Duty: Ghosts Revealed via Leaked Box Art - Release Date and Details

About a month ago, a YouTube user with some rather fantastic connections let the world know about the new Call of Duty game before anybody else. Sure, nobody probably believed him but I'm going to assume he's having a hearty laugh right now at the doubters.

Call of Duty: Ghosts was mentioned by YouTube user Drift0r on March 21, having received his information from sources familiar with the series. Today, his rumor seems to have come true as a variety of online retailers inadvertently let slip the box art, release date, and a few details about the new Call of Duty title in development.

The above boxart is a leak from TESCO. An advertisement for Target's May 5-11 period includes information about a special where you can pre-order Call of Duty: Ghosts for $1 and save $10 on any current game priced $49.99 (USD) or higher.

This Target ad also notes a November 5, 2013 release date for Ghosts.

Some of the unconfirmed details are as follows:
    - Call of Duty: Ghosts. Activision toyed with Call of Duty: Phantoms, but settled on Ghosts.
    - Steering away from "Modern Warfare" to start its own thing, though is still kinda Modern Warfare 4.
    - Set in the future, kind of like Black Ops, but with current generation weaponry. Some plot event forces people of that time period to use our generation weapons.
    - Dynamic loading screens, as in the traditional loading countdown is replaced with some kind of animated sequence (rappel in from chopper, sneak in, etc).
    - Movement changes. Dash->slide+shooting. Corner peeking. Prone left/right roll.
    - Spec Ops gone, replaced with new mode.
    - Team aiming for more destructive environments. Working in single player, but team is having some issues with implementing it in multiplayer.

The above list was mentioned in the YouTube video (shown below) from about a month prior and compiled by NeoGAF.

Im kind of surprised they are releasing this on the PS3 and Xbox 360. I half expected it to be PS4 and Xbox (720) exclusive titles to kickstart the new console range.

I would like to think people are over the same crappy gameplay, similar textures crap but apparently not.

With luck they will be and this game will sell shit all. Giving Activision a clear message.

Without seeing it you just have to take their word that they are implementing some new things to keep it fresh like blops2 did, that being said COD is still the best multiplayer shooter on consoles and has no real competition.

You forget that Activision cares more about money than they do about "kickstarting" a new batch of consoles. They'll release where a majority of players still are and this holiday season it will no doubt still be with Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Next year, however, is probably when you'll see next-gen CoD titles in addition to them releasing 360/PS3 versions.

Who knows though, maybe there are Xbox Infinity and PS4 versions coming this year.

Some of us read from the comments section of the newspost rather than the forums section which wouldn't show it, but point taken now.
