Co-op Not Included in Battlefield 4

You know what? I enjoyed the brief bit of time that the Battlefield 3 co-op missions took up. I actually wished there were a few more of them but apparently that just isn't going to happen.

In an IGN Benelux interview with DICE General Manager Karl Magnus Toedsson, it was said that Battlefield 4 will not include any co-op campaign missions. Instead of taking time for co-op, the team wishes to focus more on the game's single player and multiplayer components.

      Its ok, its just starting.

Also, I am a little surprised about the co-op being dropped. When you look at the Battlelog coding, the maps and stats, the unlocks tied with it, I guess its a bit of work, but I wouldnt have thought it was that big of a deal to do.

What also gets me a little is they want more time on multiplayer and single player, yet they announced the release in Fall? Is this a rush job after all? I would think with all the touting DICE did last time of being 3 times the size it used to be, I wouldn't think it would be an issue to have a co-op team.

This really isn't surprising. The co-op in BF3 was decently fun, but it was obvious they never found the time to make it how they truly wanted. And they never found time to work on it after release.

I enjoyed the coop far more than I thought I would, but yeah, you could perfectly notice there was something missing with it an it wasn't complete. I was really expecting them to expand on it and release more stuff. Oh well.. Something I honestly would love to hear someone say would be: "We are dropping the singleplayer to have more time to focus on our multiplayer"

I havent been in the battlelog forums, but I would bet anyone as of this posting that there are several threads about dropping single player also

But they cant because not all console players have online play for various reasons. If you want to hit the largest audience you can on platform, you add single player, even if its bad. Which BF3s wasnt bad, Im just saying in general.

I'm sure single player is more of an advertisement of what their engine can do than it is fun for us gamers. :)

And so Co-op becomes the Future DLC $$$$$$.
"We're all very different people. We're not Watusi. We're not Spartans. We're Americans, with a capital 'A', huh? You know what that means? Do ya? That means that our forefathers were kicked out of every decent country in the world. We are the wretched refuse. We're the underdog. We're mutts! Here's proof: his nose is cold! But there's no animal that's more faithful, that's more loyal, more loveable than the mutt." -John Winger (Bill Murray) Stripes

By the sounds of things they aren't even going to try. They didn't make any form of SP DLC in 3 and still did well so why would they change that? They'd have to voice actors to do extra voices.
