SimCity Game Crashes Down 92% as Maxis and EA Adds Better Server Hardware

Maxis' Lucy Bradshaw again took to the blog world to update SimCity players with the fourth community news update. In this update, she's thrilled to let players know that they have "reduced game crashes by 92% from day one." Which, if you were able to play at that time would understand is quite the significant number of crashes that have been resolved.
A combination of optimizing our server architecture and response times, deploying these enhancements on both a series of new and the original servers and issuing a few critical client updates has achieved getting virtually everyone into the game and, once in, having a great time building cities and sharing regions.

I had hoped to issue an “All-Clear” tonight, but there are still some elements coming together. Tonight and tomorrow we’ll be monitoring each server and gameplay metrics to ensure that the service remains strong and game is playing great. We need a few more days of data before we can assure you that the problem is completely solved and the game is running at 100 percent.

As a brief bit of additional information to go along with this blog update, I can personally say that my friends and I have had no issues logging in to play the game ever since they added more servers late on Friday. The entire weekend was smooth sailing as far as joining games and keeping a stable connection were concerned.

I do like the part where they are honest about not having enough data to tell us they're 100% sure it's good to go. ...but I'm still not buying it because I can't get myself away from Counter-Strike 1.6 after all these years. :)
