DICE Interested in Oculus Rift for the Frostbite Engine

DICE, the makers of the popular Battlefield series, have expressed an interest in the VR headset called Oculus Rift. In speaking with Eurogamer, Creative Director Frank Vitz expressed his appreciation of the headset.

"It should be awesome. BF3 in [Stereoscopic 3D] works great and our current version of the engine has all of that support still. There are multiple titles in the works that would be awesome with the Rift."

To that end, DICE is looking for a master thesis student to look into and work on Oculus Rift support for the Frostbite Engine. Their job wouldn't simply be to include support for Frostbite Engine title, but to make it work "really well."

"You and I both know how tricky 3D can be with different kinds of game play cameras. I have worked with several VR headsets in the past and they all fell short."

DICE says they have at least four dev kits for Oculus Rift on order. Battlefield 4 played with an Oculus Rift VR headset? Sign me up!

After what they did to thier Battle Field series. DICE can keep thier dirty little hands off the Oculus.

Oh right, I forgot people merely wanted more of the exact same only with a fresh coat of paint. I'm assuming this is why the CoD series is so popular...
