Natural Selection 2's Free 'Gorgeous' Update Arrives This Week

Earlier this month, we showed you what Unknown Worlds was working on. They call it a "Gorgeous" visual update to the Spark Engine and we're inclined to agree. It will arrive on February 28 and it will be a free update to everyone who owns the game.

In addition to some visual improvements, it also includes Railguns, Gorge Tunnels, Descent, and some "fun surprises." It is the culmination of over two months of work from the Unknown Worlds team.

Alongside the headline grabbing ‘big new guns and abilities,’ Gorgeous contains countless subtle improvements and fixes. The Spark Engine has a couple of new graphical tricks up its sleeve to make the game look better, and is running ever faster as it is tuned for more performance. Existing abilities and weapons have been tweaked for more fun and subtle balance changes made.

I stopped at the word "FREE" in the headline. I don't understand how new features and weapons are part of this idea called "free update." I'm only familiar with the words "$4.99 DLC or free with season pass." Graphical updates in the same game?! Balderdash! Why haven't they put that good work into next year's sequel?! Title updates are only for showstopping bugs, so I'm going to E-mail and complain to Unknown Worlds for attempting predatory business practices with this unheard of "non-Minecraft free update" concept. What kind of a company is this?!
