Platinum Games Interested in Buying Darksiders from THQ 'For Cheap'

Platinum Games, the studio behind the Bayonetta franchise, Madworld, and the upcoming Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance have expressed an interest in picking up the Darksiders franchise on the cheap.

A tweet sent out by Platinum Games' Executive Director, Atsushi Inaba, made this quite clear.

"In THQ studio and IP selling off auction, Darksiders is unsold? [We] wanna buy it...on the cheap,"

Strangely, the thought of the Darksiders IP going to Platinum Games almost seems to work. The series seems like it would be a good fit with Platinum Games' lineup of titles.

That would be fantastic, all these Japanese publisher/developers are trying to appeal to western audiences in less impressive ways, i'd love to see Darksiders done the japanese way instead of just slowly turning into small scale God of War.

A small scale God of War may seem rather generic and tiresome... But... Having Platinum Games' over the top action with Vigil Games' dungeon exploration and puzzle solving... Sounds quite nice to me, and they both have "Games" in their company names.

Basically a combination of God of War and Zelda, sped up to a blistering pace, and blasting with J-Pop or Electrorock at every climatic action sequence. This idea is as delusional as my Rez/Lumines/Child of Eden/Polynomial/Audiosurf/Beat Hazard/Rhythm Heaven/Nausea combination idea, but I don't care and I can dream. I would definitely play Darksiders III: The Bastardized Remix over replaying Zelda: The Wind Waker HD (when that comes out).

Too bad a tweet isn't a serious way to show intent (sigh and frown). Can someone at least reply to his tweet and translate what Joe Anderson said to Japanese and represent North America's demand to make this a more serious consideration?
