Hate the BioShock Infinite Cover Then Cast Your Vote for an Alternate One

Irrational Games has heard the numerous complaints about the BioShock Infinite cover (seen below). They heard you loud and clear. As such, they are now accepting votes for an official, alternate design that will be placed on the reverse side of the main cover, so that you can flip it around and never have to see the original again.

    Alternates:

You have your choice of six different alternate covers. Be sure to cast your vote at the Irrational Games website.

So long as it's anything but #1, 3, or 5 I'm fine with it. 4 and 6 are both equally amazing IMO.

Zips took the words right out of my mouth. I considered skipping out on commenting here because he already reflected my opinion, but I think I have a couple more thoughts to add here. #3 and #5 confuses me, because I don't understand how it asthetically and thematically differs from the original cover (aside from the various levels of flare effects). The original cover already has the two live-action actors on opposite ends, so putting them together doesn't really look different to me and would be a waste of an alternate cover. Mind you, I like the actress's cosplay of Alice, April O'Neil, and FemShep, so I'm not against having her on the cover, but the point here is to convey as much information as possible about the game's core theme with a picture (I'm assuming showing the protagonist with a gun is the source of the complaints in the first place).

Design #1 feels so lazy I think I'm supposed to slap myself in the face because the developers have the intent, but can't be bothered to do so themselves; if they replace Elizabeth's face with a trollface, then I'll vote for it because at least the developers are being honest with themselves.

Design #2 provides such an information overload I feel too confused to understand the game's core theme (despite showing it blatantly). As Zips said, design #4 and #6 would be my choices, but I'm leaning more towards #6 as while #4 conveys the setting and theme more accurately, #6 conveys the relationship issues heavily explored in the game (and shows both a protagonist and an antagonist) while lightly revealing the setting (Songbird isn't exactly 100% organic from what I'm seeing on the cover). I'm not sure if it's steampunk or diselpunk or neither, but whatever.

And a final comment as food for thought. While I'm glad a reversible cover was offered instead of settling with the incredibly lazy print-your-own cover solution for Bioshock Infinite, how did VALVe/EA get away with the "improved cover" for The Orange Box?...

Yeeeeeeep. That's the "improved cover." The initial design didn't even have pictures. Actually, you reported the stories for both designs back when people were surprised at how lazy the design was.
