Painkiller Hell & Damnation Denied Classification in Germany Plus New Screenshots

Apparently, the German ratings board has denied an age classification for Painkiller: Hell & Damnation. Specific reasons as to why this happened were not revealed, but I'm assuming it has something to do with the extreme violence and gore found within the game.

To bring the fact home that Painkiller is just a game, Nordic Games has released some fresh media.

Painkiller Hell & Damnation is a remake of the classic game, featuring updated visuals and improved gameplay. It's slated for release on Halloween (October 31) for just $19.99 (USD) for the Standard Edition or $29.99 for the Collector's Edition. Be sure to check out more details on the game at their website, and stay tuned to TGN for our upcoming review!

Looks like Nordic Games may have to change it so that monsters disappear in a puff of supernatural smoke or something to be allowed into the German market. That or reduce the gibbing to Borderlands 2 levels (which isn't so bad for the record).
On an unrelated note, I wonder if the Painkiller remake will produce a story with an ending similar to The Darkness I and II. I mean... Is there ever such a thing as the protagonist winning, if there are plans for sequels? Kind of hurts knowing you're chasing after someone you will never reach.
But... the monsters already DO disappear into a cloud of supernatural smoke, after they die horrible, horrible deaths, of course.

      Like so:

Bahahahahahah! Obviously I meant disappear instantaneously rather than have them ragdolling around in excruciating agony as their lost souls slowly get shattered and sent spiralling into a permanent void of Hell. But damn that's an awesome sarcastic rebuttal that deserves a thumbs up! Love it!
