Is This Why Knife Kills are Broken in Battlefield 3

We've all been there. You're ready to knife somebody in Battlefield 3 and suddenly your character merely makes a feeble back swing attempt without actually plunging it into your enemy. Once all is said and done, you're still left with your knife out, no kill, and your would-be victim is now aware that you're right behind him.

Why does this happen? Well, it seems as though it may be a limitation within Battlefield 3 itself and not simply an issue with your own lack of skills.

I've lost track of how many times my player would just take his knife out and not carry out a sure kill. It's frustrating, it's annoying, and it's certainly something that needs to be fixed.

      Oh MAN! How LAAAAAAAMMEEE!

I love BF3. Awesome game. The thing that bugs me to death are the stupid little things like this and other little things that make no sense as to why they are bugs or limitations.

Same goes with the camo in your kits. Ive reported this issues since the alpha and explained how if you change any item in a kit, it automatically resets the camo. Nothing. No fix. Even using the online layout thing they just put in place makes no difference. You change a weapon or attachment or an accessory to your kit, next time you play, your camos are going to be off for that kit.

Oh don't worry, if they don't patch it in Battlefield 3 anytime soon, I'm sure they will make sure this doesn't happen in Battlefield 4. Either that or Battlefield 4 IS the patch. Ok ok yeah I'm trolling. Honestly though, I don't really understand why this limitation even exists. Do instant kills cause some sort of spike in CPU/memory usage? What is this a safeguard to, if any?

          New patch coming online soon:
A new server update for Battlefield 3 is rolling out tomorrow on all formats, bringing more balancing tweaks to the Armored Kill gunship and the long awaited option to remove the minimap in Hardcore mode. Read on for the full details You should see this update in effect starting 08:30 UTC October 11…

          In it:
          Knife takedown fix
Fixed so that there can be multiple knife kills at the same time on a server.

Rationale: We had a bug where only one knife takedown could take place at any one time on one server. If you attempted a knife takedown at the exact same time as someone else on the server, the takedown animation wouldn’t play, and your opponent wouldn’t take any damage. This has now been fixed.

Makes me wonder if they would have fixed it if this video wasnt made.

You know damn well it wouldn't have been because that behavior has been around for a long while now without any acknowledgement from them on the matter.

I figured as much. Same with the guy that posted the exploit on Grand Bazaar. I still think it was crappy of him to give DICE a whole two weeks to fix it, but I think if the exploit was never published, it wouldnt have been fixed.

              Seldom used exploits that is.
