Square Enix Releasing 13 Final Fantasy Titles in Massive 25th Anniversary Collection

In celebration of 25 years of Final Fantasy, Square Enix announced that they will release a 25th Anniversary collection containing 13 previous titles in the series.

The collection includes the following titles and bonus items:

• Final Fantasy (PS1, 1 disc)
• Final Fantasy II (PS1, 1 disc)
• Final Fantasy III (PSP, 1 disc)
• Final Fantasy IV (PS1, 1 disc)
• Final Fantasy V (PS1, 1 disc)
• Final Fantasy VI (PS1, 1 disc)
• Final Fantasy VII International (PS1, 4 discs)
• Final Fantasy VIII (PS1, 4 discs)
• Final Fantasy IX (PS1, 4 discs)
• Final Fantasy X (PS2, 1 disc)
• Final Fantasy XI Vana'diel Collection 2 (PS2, 1 disc)
• Final Fantasy XII (PS2, 1 disc)
• Final Fantasy XIII (PS3, 1 disc)

The compilation also includes some limited bonus items:

• Special anniversary video disc
• Crystal ArtWorks -- an anniversary visual art collection
• A two disc anniversary music selection CD
• Final Fantasy XIV Mogu Mogu Earring item code
• Mini replica of Amano FF 25th Anniversary visual and stand

From the looks of things, it will (so far) only be available in Japan and will actually include actual PlayStation 1 discs, PlayStation 2 discs, and a single UMD disc for the older titles.

The package will run ¥35,000 or about $447 (USD) and will be released on December 18.

I love the artwork they have on the discs for 7-9.

Can I borrow about $447 (+ tax and s&h)? They should set up a giveaway for those of us who don't have HALF A GRAND to waste at the moment. That way we at least have a chance! :)

Yet sony no longer makes a PS3 with full Backwards compatibility anymore.
