Final Fantasy 7 Confirmed for PC

Good news today as Square Enix confirmed that a re-release of Final Fantasy VII is on its way to the PC. When will it be released? "Soon" is the only release given.

Originally released back in 1998 for the PC and PSX, it's been next to impossible to find a copy of the game today for the PC. This re-release will include 36 achievements, cloud saves (cue pun here), and a "Character Booster" that will boost your HP, MP, and Gil to the max if you so choose to use it.

Curiously, the page says that the game is exclusively to be sold in the Square Enix store despite it having ties to Steam as found in previous months.

    System Requirements
    Windows XP/Vista/7 (32 or 64-bit)
    2GHz CPU
    1GB RAM
    DirectX 9 GPU

For more information, feel free to visit the official Final Fantasy VII PC website.

Great news! Can't wait to play it. That character booster sounds odd.

Does this mean my legit copy is worth something? I knew the ps2 version my cousin gave me was, but I didn't know about PC.

Though using the (old) pc version can also be recommended as there are a few mods for it such as the pheonix rejuvenation project that add better world character models

Updated graphics? At all? Even a little bit? Please? One of my favorite games (still have the PS1 version, didn't know there was a PS2 version) of all time, but every time I try to go back and play it, it's too ugly compared to today's graphics. =/

Whoops. Cousin had a ps2...just assume that's what it was for. I suppose it was a ps1 game he played on his ps2. My bad! :)
