The winners of the 2012 GAME British Academy Video Games Awards (BAFTA) have been announced. Notable winners include the Best Game winner, Portal 2 and best online multiplayer winner, Battlefield 3.

I noticed MW3 didn't make any part of the list. Another Good sign.

TES V: Skyrim didn't make the winner's list either. Which is unfortunate.

I love VALVe Software and I love Portal 2 (pre-ordered it for both myself and a friend who's unfamiliar with the series and got him hooked), but I'm rather confused as to how Portal 2 beat TES V: Skyrim on both Best Game and Design. On a completely different note, I'm also surprised LA Noire is known for its original music, as well as Portal 2 for its story. Then there's Kinect Sports: Season 2 for Sports - Fitness, which I thought the game was absolute trash and failed to beat any of EA Sports titles (I guess being a Kinect game makes you win by default being the only game in the Fitness category). And finally, I thought Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 statistically beat Battlefield 3 in player count for online multiplayer; I suppose it's quality we're talking here, not quantity. I'm glad this list came out later and not immediately after 2011, giving time to actually decide which is good and not which is the newest hyped game, but overall the results confuse me about as much as Spike TV's Video Game Awards.
