Get Up Close and Personal in this Battlefield 3: Close Quarters Gameplay Trailer

EA and DICE have released a new trailer today for the Battlefield 3: Close Quarters DLC coming this June. Reminding you that this is optional DLC and nobody is forcing you to purchase it, the Close Quarters DLC features smaller maps with a focus of 8vs8 gameplay.

The Close Quarters DLC features destructible indoor environments, "high definition destruction", new maps, and new weapons.

I think it looks interesting, mainly because I usually get good ping so I never seem to complain about Hitreg... And I actually like BF3's Infantry combat. I think it would be another mindless unwind and I refuse to buy CoD at this point, and BF3 is the only FPS game that I have an interest in right now. (unless STALKER 2 comes right back)

Looks good, also its good for people who jsut want a CoD style gameplay, i wont be a hypocrite because i also at some point like playing inf only maps, i remeber the days of 24/7 Karakand inf only servers back in BF2, i used to play them a lot. But i like a good mixture every now and again i would play inf only to vehciles and rinse and repeat.

Yeah, lets hope it's not going to be 90% of the maps COD MAPS 24/7 and only 10 percent of servers running decent battlefield maps

"with a focus of 8vs8 gameplay"Sad part is, that's still too much for me. :)I played a BUNCH of BC2 on Squad Rush (4v4). I suppose that's all due to the 10 years of 5v5 counter-strike I've played.

Cant really tell what was going on with nothing but explosions.....oh wait thats metro on a normal day. Even the trailers show rpg/nade/usas spam lol Destruction looks nice though, they need to add some of that into the base game.....we got all this about how advanced the destruction was going to be, but I wasnt impressed. Small things that should be able to be destroyed arent, the same part of the wall explodes every time, VERY small amount of buildings actually get demolished. All in all I think BC2's destruction had more.

Well after B2K Destruction was ramped up a bit, and Base game building parts can actually be destroyed unlike release...

By the time the tank expansion is out, I will probably not be playing BF3 anymore. What's going to happen is this will sell well, DICE will make the magical assumption that small maps are more popular, and BF4 will be shoebox maps.

Maybe, but Patrick Bach just came out and said that he prefers the small maps like Metro and this DLC. If the head gameplay designer likes small maps, chances are we are going to see more small maps.

Considering EAs track record, I also expect the expansions to add something to the core game. Most likely allowing the new weapons to be used outside of the expansions.

I think that was mentioned in the trailer?

It has been confirmed that the weapons will be outside the DLC.
