Oh Boy, More Rumors of Battlefield 3 Coming to Steam

Over the weekend there were not one, not three, but TWO new pieces of "evidence" pointing that Battlefield 3 might be coming to Steam.

First up, a Battlefield 3 giveaway from video card manufacturer, Sapphire, has a long list of usual legal in's and out's including how the prizes for their competition will be distributed. Let's read what it says, shall we?

    5. Awarding of PC Game code Codes

From all eligible Gold members who have opted in to receive the SSC newsletter by the Entry Deadline, the recipients will be selected at random through a draw from the following gift:
One (1) PC Game code for Battlefield 3, redeemable for the game on Steam (www.steampowered.com) with a Suggested Retail Price of $USD 59.99

Quite interesting, right? Next, we have some lines of code from within PunkBuster, the anti-cheat solution for Battlefield 3.

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 3\
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\battlefield 3\
    C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\battlefield 3\
    C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 3\

Leftover code or kept in there for a good reason? Nobody really knows. So far, neither Valve nor EA have said anything about this. Sapphire has yet to change their redemption section of their giveaway (and has had all weekend to do so). Perhaps we'll just have to wait and see since nobody is saying a thing to anybody else right now.

I'll be pissed if BF3 comes to Steam. I'm so sick of dealing with Origin -_-.

They will probably get another 5 million sales if they bring it to Steam.

That would mean about as much as a steaming pile of dog shat to me, but I'm sure there were steamboys that boycot everything not steaming~~~

I bet at least one person would buy it again on steam just to have it on steam. lol. That'd help boost sales!

What does it matter? The game requires Origin to run regardless of what retail platform you purchase it on. The steam version will still require you to run origin...
