And BF3 has jets and destruction with tall buildings. Coincidence? I think not.

Apparently the early beta access is just 48 hours: http://www.videogamer.com/pc/battlef...re-orders.html
But supposedly the two days will be a Friday and a Saturday (beta is rumored to start Sept. 11), so at least it is two days you could actually play a bit.Leave a comment:

Great, I just pre-ordered last Friday (well, as a late bday gift).Leave a comment:

yeh you might just have to select the SPECACT gun seperately within the classLeave a comment:

Re: Pre-Order Battlefield 3 on Origin and Gain Access to the Beta
That is true with BC2, but it may not be true for BF3. From the leaked footage, the kit selection method is a lot more advanced than the BC2 version.Originally posted by Minmasterdont forget, u also get extra kit save slots for each class

Hmmm have to agree. It does seem a bit weak that people pre-ordering via Origin "only" get into the Beta. Down the road one would benefit more from the other offers.Nevertheless I have already preordered via Origin so what ever the add from now on is just gravy.Leave a comment:

Yeh sorry was probably the swear words, I really should edit some of them out
THIS IS WHAT A HEATWAVE DOES TO SANE PEOPLE lol
but really, people should be thankful that Dice is willing to tackle something as expansive as Battlefield 3 with as much eagerness, the engine alone is worth 3 charizards and is another case (like with Crysis) where the engine IMPROVES the gameplay immensely
Battlefield 3 should be a sequel to BF2, but in a good way, not in a "its gonna hold the game back" sort of way, otherwise we won't get new aspects or things to try. Imo thats why they made the Back To Karkand DLC, not just because of the nostalgia and to make us BF2 players buy it but to remind us of how games can change and why
If BF3 was just like BF2 it would be a failure, I would buy it, but I wouldn't play it for very long, I want something new and improved and if that means removing things that were found in past Battlefields then so be it because some good stuff can be added in there as well and some of that good stuff can come from things like BC2 or games that aren't even in the series as long as the Battlefield feel is just there, and after playing the alpha I knew it was and it barely scratched the surface...
I just know there are going to be so many epic moments no matter if you are fighting on foot, or in a vehicle scanning around with your NVG optics looking for green smurfs
dam thing don't like to remember my use of paragraphs grrr...rage building once more
Also my brain, or perhaps my epeen is finding a strange sense of irony comparing this to the whole BF2/2142 thing
BF2 players who would not accept where the game fell flat on its face, even after endless debilitating patches are given a hugely improved product...and all they can do is QQ even though it wasn't just a reskin, or a mod *brain explodes (its time for sleep)Leave a comment:

Yeah, I had to approve that post for some reason. That was weird.Originally posted by MrChris_CJtext of rage and then...I am sorry for this massive outburst of rage and my over use of swear words
I mean, I understand why people want it to be like BF2. I get it, but I already own BF2. I dont want it again. Thats the problem with the CoD games today. They could have made each of those CoDs, starting with 4, a DLC package.
I like the point you made about how each BF game was different from the others. Thats very true as well. Im not saying thats good or bad, but it is.

I have to love people being cynical
I have pretty much played every Battlefield title that came into existence, along with more mods than my net connection wanted to download
BF3 did not feel like BC2, BC3 (oh noes but that hasn't been made yet!) or BF2, it felt like something different but even in Rush mode on that restrictive map it still felt Battlefield and it felt fucking good. If you just want Battlefield 2 remade, you are just as bad as all the Call of Duty players that buy the same shit game reskinned year after year, I am glad that BF2 is simply not being remade (you can enjoy the back to karkand DLC for that) because guess what? Games move forward and for all of Battlefield 2's goodness it was fucking awful in as many areas...
Some people might not like regenerative health or whatever hell feature they think is made for consoles and they want to cry about but at the end of the day if you can see past your own blind rage new features work fine if tweaked and implemented properly
I have had BF3 on pre order for a long long time, playing in the Alpha only made me want it more, hell I bloody WANT regenerative health in there, I don't give a shit if there is a commander, I don't care if there is a killcam or not for billions of reasons.
jesus, its threads like these for example...
that make me want to inflict physical pain, because yes the inclusion or non inclusion of those features dictates whether or not its a battlefield game! jesus christ
oh and the 4 man squad thing, while I give not a fuck really about squad size, the reasons they set it to 4 was mainly because 4 divides into 32 and 64 exactly etc 6 does not (although I still don't think that matters since people come and go on servers frequently) and because apparently 4 men in a squad makes it more likely 1 of each class will be in it, it also fits the new squad spawning system better tbh. Although apparently Dice is divided on the squad size so who knows, maybe there will be a civil war and 6 man squads will be in. At the end of the day I am going to have BF3 before or on the release day, just like I did BF2 and I am going to bloody well enjoy it for endless hours and am going to be thankful that it is not RESTRAINED by the whole mistaken "BF2 is god" idealogy

Re: Pre-Order Battlefield 3 on Origin and Gain Access to the Beta
I know you didnt, but your comment made it seem like nothing was in BF3 that came from the other titles. There are a lot of people wanting BF2+ instead of BF3 and they even threaten to go to MW3 and I say GO!Originally posted by stilla-killaI never said I wanted it to be like BF2. But alot of people were whining at the alpha forums when they realized that it wasn't like BF2.
Besides, we need more people in the cod section

Thank you Jimy! Yes, squad leader. Also vehicles from BF2 and not just because of Karkand pack and it would be funny if there was a BF3 wake
