Months after its initial release of the game, Crysis 2 finally has added support for DirectX 11 and high resolution textures.
The optional and free update adds in tessellation, an "Ultra" graphical setting, parallax occlusion mapping, and tons of other improvements. DirectX 9 owners will also benefit from real time reflections and contact shadows. According to many, the Ultra setting is again bringing gaming rigs to their knees, especially when used in conjunction with the higher resolution textures.
The DirectX 11 Ultra Upgrade and High Res Textures can both be downloaded by any of the mirrors listed at MyCrysis. The DirectX 11 patch does require the 1.9 patch to be applied, which was also released today. I can't speak for every platform, but the Steam version of Crysis 2 updated earlier today to 1.9.
