Might give this a try. I have always wondered if i would like the original Dragon Age but never played it. Im a huge fan of the Mass Effect and Oblivion series if that would give anyone any ideas.

I'm saddened by the path the game took, it's really button mashing fest, instead of going into something more tactical. But I know the Xbox360 version of the first DA was easier and less tactical than the PC version.

And can we stop designing women fighters like hot models with big boobs and little armor (the rogue with brown skin for ex)? I know the game is more aimed at teenagers but still...

Yeah sadly. I don't really mind that when the game is clearly not serious but that's not Dragon Age case. You have evil spawns everywhere and huge badass Ogres and next to that women in little clothes lalala.

As for the difference in gameplay (and graphics) between Xbox360 and PC it's still here, the PC version is more tactical.

Ok well i tried the demo and it bored me to death that i turned it off before it ended. The game is simply "Press X Multiple Times To Win".

On PC it's better (like the first DA), there's auto-attack on so you just have to click on an enemy and clic on the skills bar, it's less spammy.

Because there's evil and ogres it justifies hot women with no armor and big boobs? You never read/played serious fantasy then. The only truth is Dragon Age is aimed at a young/not exacting public, you just have to watch the trailers of the first DA to understand (Marylin Manson for advertising a fantasy game, seriously...).

If you were specifically talking about DA and not fantasy, yes they take their story seriously, there's a big emphasis on it.

indeed, my point is that there is no such thing as serious fantasy stories. That's why it's called fantasy, you can have anything you want. If you take fantasy seriously then you need to get out more. Conventions don't count.

Note the cohesive part. If there's no justification of a woman fighting better with huge boobs and no armor it's not a serious and coherent settings, simple as that.

What is "serious" fanatasy?
Dragon Lance and Conan had no shortage of naked skin.
You could drag out Tolkien, but he was a British professor in English, so what do you expect?

Realistic fantasy would be about a bunch of illiterate unwashed inbreds murdering and plundering some poor peasants.
So I don't think any of the fantasy subgenres has reason to ridicule the others.
