I don't understand why its 32 players, just make it 64 players or even better 128 and just see how servers handle it. Consolers are use to 32 players, but us PC goers love madness, specially 64 man-iss!

because the same thing for the korean market has a 100 player limit. why don't they give it to us as well? don't dumb it down, it's not like they need to port it to consoles...

i'm not really complaining, but i'm pointing out/criticizing that this new version is sort of a nerfed version of the one that already exists (in korea). and no they will most likely not change it to 100 player limit after they already announced its 32. why in the world would you think that?

it's basically a lower player count BF2 without prone.

just because it's free doesn't mean that it doesn't deserve any criticism or second guessing. there are a lot of crappy stuff out there that are free.

also, they are quietly trying to set 32 players as the new BF standard. in the interview they say
If you plan to play Battlefield 3, we would advise you get into Battlefield Play4Free at the earliest opportunity!!
hell, maybe BF3 will only be 32 players and no prone. would you like that?

No i wouldnt like that, and why? Because i would be paying for it. EA/DICE know that they need to get BF3 right.

I always personally thought that 32 players on most BF2 maps with the exception of a few was perfect. 64 players could become very spammy and i dread to think what 100 players would be like. You say they wont raise the player cap but you dont know that for sure. If its being made alongside the Heroes team then god knows the entire game could change within a year (although notably Heroes was for the worse).

Why are they wasting time with these mini projects? 1943, That cartoon game, now this... They needed to make a game and waste time to understand that casual players don't give a **** about playing FPS?

                  When is BF3 coming?

DICE, quit wasting time on nonsense, get a clue from Call of Duty 4 and try to appeal to hardcore gamers(that you've lost so many of to CoD), not casuals.

How big is the DICE team? Why split them up on different projects?

No, they made it so you would have to spend real-world cash to stand a chance in the game. As you might recall, initially you could only buy cosmetic changes and some xp boosts.
But they have changed that so the best weapons now can be bought with cash. I don't remember if it was cash only, or there also was some ridiculous high price in the in-game currency.

Since this game is supposed to have the rpg-like leveling from BF:H, I expect them to sell the XP-boost here too. I don't know what else they have n mind to generate revenue, but I have a feeling that we wont like it.

was heroes always like that though? it was originally fair for people playing for free right? and then when they realized they wanted to make more $, they decided to give the paying players too much of an advantage correct? if that's true, then it might be worth playing this new title in the beginning and ditch it as soon as it becomes apparent that you will need to shell out money to "stand a chance".

Yes, that is true. The thing is though is that the Korean game was also a prototype as well as the Heroes one. Those tests are over and they may combine the two off the bat. Why add it later to tick everyone off when you can just include it all and set that expectation up front?
