Epic fail. This at least better be a PC port. Why would you work on the version that has more limitations and THEN porting it rather than working on the version with less limitations, then stripping it down to port over to console?

Im starting to think that if that twitter post was correct, then this must be EA's doing, which doesnt take any fault off of dice because that means they WILL have to make a dumbed down version, and to save time they will probably give that same version to all platforms. Though I reckon giving this to the current gen consoles is stupid, wait till the next.

DICE knows it has an opportunity to grab the PC FPS market by the throat and make a brilliant game, with BC2 they had the excuse that it really was a console game, BF3 is a sequal (kinda) to BF2, so if it's been consolized and ****ed up for the PC, it's their mistake.

I'm inclined to agree with this. DICE could have released BFBC2 for PC in a much worse shape and gotten away with it. They did spend a lot of time on it and if there's one thing they haven't done, it's abandoning the PC platform (even if BC2 obviously could have been even better)

BFBC was released as a pure console title. BFBC2 wasn't in production for more than 1 - 1 ½ years with BFBC as the base. Turning a console only shooter into a full fledged PC shooter isn't gonna work in that time. With that in mind, they still did a very good job with the PC version of BC2.

BF3 is based on a new version of the engine and has been under development for a very long time. If they're determined to make the PC version the best they can, they have a lot more time and abilities to do that now.

I see no reason to be too pessimistic. Chill out and wait for more info.

according to the twitter responses, BF3 will be powered with the frostbite 2 which is primary developed on DX 11 and 64 bit OS will be recommended, this means that the game will have full advantage of the tesselation feature and other things and will take full advantage of 8GB memory, so i do think the game will be somethin BIG

This makes is sound interesting.

BC2 really had no choice but to be a console port since it started out on consoles, but this is Battlefield 3, and that alone makes me hopeful.

aww man! I freaking hate consoles. Quality and orginality of the games is going downhill cause of them! When i was a teen i was a console kiddy. Used to get the video game mags and see the awesome PC games and dream of the day i could afford a PC and play the really awesome games. Actually gave me something to look forward to and work for.

Now that im here we are going backwards! WTF!

DICE needs to make two BF games if they want to be on console. You dont spend the money on a gaming PC, then you get the stripped down version of the game! You get what ya pay for!

they tried to make a special PC version for 1943.... look what happened to it, it is over a year late and now rumors of it being canceled.

yeah the great BF3 may be a bit over 12 months away but who cares if its a BC type game!Arena maps,4 classes,4 maps,no prone,no jets,32 playa,1 tank ect ect

As much as this sucks, we all have to remember that Big-time game developers and publishers dont respect loyalty, or who gave them that opportunity. All they respect is whoever is giving them the most money, and in EA's eyes (and possibly DICE's) Console is where the money is at, while BC2 may or may not have had a stronger customer base on the PC, there is still the idea of breaking into the console market.

No matter how much we scream "YOU CANT DO THIS! WE MADE YOU!" as if we have a broken keyboard, Dice isnt going to give us what they used to. we just have to be patient, and hopefully some good news may come, for now, we just have to band together as a community and appreciate the small-time developers who actually care about PC gaming while we can before they are swept up by the big 3 w@nkers (EA, Activision, Ubisuck)

I wish there was an FPS for hardcore gamers, instead of these easy, simple, arcade-style games like BC2.

It's not really news, that EA sucks. I'm having problems with my Sims 3 validation code, and I'm still waiting for some help after several months.
