Re: Russia Bans Modern Warfare 2
OK, I think I better understand your point on that now.
My take on the Russians supporting the terrorists, and this is going back to CoD:4 also, is that all this terrorist stuff is happening underground and out of the minds of the Russians. In CoD:4 its even covered up at the end and no one knows anything about it. The middle east war had nothing to do with Russia and everyone involved was killed in the nuclear blast. I viewed the Ultranationalists taking power as the Russian people not even knowing what was going on with that and getting swept up in the propeganda of their leaders, much like the US side in both games.
I am going to reread all this and play the first few levels again and see if I see it differently. I agree that this is very Clancy, but I still dont see why the Russian Government needs to ban it in real life. In CoD:4 Americans looked like they were doing what we do best and thats run into situations and level everything before knowing whats really going on and I did not see that as an issue. When the Russians invaded in MW2 I just thought that given the information they have, they felt in the right to do so and were kinda doing what the US did in CoD:4.
Maybe I am missing the point still. Just keep commenting and I will eventually get it

I agree, thats a huge hole in the story, not to mention the other bases we have in other parts of the world not reacting to this or our allies that have not been touched yet. Its very complicated. In a game perspective, the entire thing has to be dumbed down to work anyway.
