Day 1 Issues for Modern Warfare 2

The game is just starting to unlock throughout Europe and already a number of complaints have been reported about connection issues to servers.

From a post on the IW forums

The IW Forums have been hit pretty hard with people complaining about being unable to connect to servers, waiting to find enough players for a match, non-existent host migration, and more.

The biggest complaint thus far has been from most users wondering why the game has been "consolized" as much as it has been. Some users are coming to find out that the advertised "9v9" multiplayer only applies to a few maps and an even smaller of game modes. The majority of the multiplayer is actually 6v6.

There are even a number of users complaining about having to use Steam or the fact that there is an additional bit of content that must be downloaded through Steam even after installing via the retail discs.

It's going to be a fun few days coming up.

6v6 is pretty funny, yet makes sense when you consider there's no effing dedicated servers.

I also read they didn't put in any way to switch teams so as to balance out the game, or there's no auto-balance in place?

$60 for a 4 hour single player game with a handful of 2 player co-op maps.

        No dedicated servers.

        Low player count.

        No lean.

They consolized it because they want out of the PC market. They dont care and they wont ever care. We'll be lucky to see one patch.

IW is not balanced for PC support.

Wow that is very very horrible to read. The mp sounds about much fun as OFPR.

Don't ever EVER EVER mention OFPR again. Biggest waste of 40$ I have ever made.

I pretty much knew that with IW.net that it was going to be the same experience except at 60$ not 40$ LOL.

They better have a force ready button and be able for the player to join a game already in progress.

Also IW would not have ran into this problem with IWNet if they would have beta tested it for the pc

Now that i think about this, these problems may be good. IW.NET is failing sooo badly right now they may have no choice but to implement dedicated servers.

The 6vs6 reminds me of Combat Arms. I actually had fun playing that game.
