    Re: FourZeroTwo Explains IWNET

Why not let those clueless people who don't like fiddling with PC options buy a 360 version and play that. Leave the servers and lists as they are and just create a "pick for me" button and it will automatically connect you and do that thing for you.

I don't want the game to decide things for me, now matter how many filters I pick, I would not even have to pick such iltering options if I had server lists.
I don't want this IW **** deciding what to do and what to join for me mkay?

    IW........

What if I like going to one specific bar right? that regulars show up to, I'm not friends with them, we just have seen each other and know each other from the far, we are just regulars. I don't want the driver driving to "pre-set options" bars around the town, I want that specific bar.

I wonder if this will affect PC Gamer review score?

Lololol. It's going to be so much better when hackers are hosting the server!

Don't worry, cable, you won't be able to play worth a crap on this system anyhow with your internet.
If your ping to that server is 47ms, what do you think it will be to some guy's house?

They will never allow a video of it to be published until a user does it after release day......too much bad press......look how codemasters keep the no dedicated server fact about OPFP2 a secret until almost release day when it was pretty much too late to cancel preorders, and they flat out lied about it having joystick support as well.........the back of the box for OPFP2 even says "Dedicated host server recommended for optimum performance".......and they didn't even include it....why are there no repercussions for these developers deceptive sales techniques?

There's no limit developers will go to for a buck these days as long as they are turning a profit.....they could care less about the gaming experience, its all about gross sales.

PC Gamer review will probably end with ... "so yeah there's no dedicated servers but this is Modern Warfare 2 we're talking about, the most anticipated game of the year"

                          Re: FourZeroTwo Explains IWNET

His explanation of IWNET is kind of like socialism. Socialism sounds great, but it just doesn't work, hence capitalism thrives aka dedicated servers. He basically makes listen servers sound awesome...in theory. ALL of his info, no matter how great it sounds comes down to the fact that he doesn't address the fact that these 'elite servers' will be attempted to be ran off one person's machine, not a dedicated server. Jeez, listen up IW, the ideas sound great in theory, but with the fact that ALL of this is being run off of a listen server nullifies everything else.

My post from the other thread:

"I call BS. It was a nice try to sugarcoat the turd that they have created, but just b/c it looks like a Snickers does not mean we are not smart enough to distinguish the difference.

This is one of those times that the game developer is not going to listen to all of us 100,000+ gamers until we speak with our wallets come release time. They most likely think everyone is bluffing b/c 'we want this game so much' but they will probably not cave in and release dedicated servers until they see the pitiful sales on PC. We will see. Their decision on the matter, apparently post-release, will determine if I, and 100,000+ other gamers, decide to eventually purchase their game.

As mentioned, console gamers, sounds like you will get to have a great experience. For PC...R.I.P. CoD. :salute:"

i agree. we can always hope for someone to make every single multiplayer map from MW2 so people with modded servers (my clan has one) can turn call of duty 4 into a call of duty 4 with only MW2 maps :) at least that will freshin up the maps a little. still will suck using the same weapons but hey. better than nothing
