Rumor: Digital Release of Battlefield 1942 Teased

Community reader, Bloodypalace, has brought to our attention a recent Tweet by the Executive Producer of the Battlefield series that hints at a possible digital release of Battlefield 1942.

So, tonights quiz: If BF1942 was made available through digital channels (EA Store, Steam, D2D), would you pick it up? If so, why?

With tonight's Steam release of Battlefield 2, could Battlefield 1942 be that far off? If you have a Twitter account, feel free to add your support to the idea by replying to his comment.

i would if they port it to the latest engine though. :laugh:

I already have the game and all the expansions though, $9 at my local supermarket.

I still have my copy around, so no. I'd kill for the ability to activate my CD Key on Steam, though. :3

I wouldn't. Not a huge fan of WW2 games. Plus, BF2 fills my vehicle + infantry combat needs.

If they released it on the BF2 engine I would but then again that is what FH2 is for.

Yeah price is a factor. WOuld be cool to see them sell it and generate more players to populate the servers. Its an amazing game and I have it installed still.

I'd like to see the ability to activate keys on Steam, though. I bought it a while back, lost the discs in an intercontinental move, and bought the Complete Collection not too long ago. I didn't play DC again, but stock 1942 and Vietnam are still great games.

Yes, my Battlefield 1942 CD2 is in pieces so I would buy it.

select steam/steamapps/common/battlefield 1942 as install folder when installing.

I would, my original BF1942 CD's broke or became corrupt for some reason. I remember getting them from America on holiday, so excited

This game was still on my Hard drive up until about 5 months ago. Format, but did not re-install, It was time to put that one to rest! So No its not needed
