Wow? 24 players on PC? They better seriously reconsider this. Saying that 64 player servers aren't full is just ridiculous! I help run a server that is 64 players and it's FULL more than 50% of the every single day. To say that 64 player servers are too big to fill is actually insulting to me as a server admin. We do a lot of work to get our server full and we should be able to have them if we're able to fill them up (not to mention pay for them). If it really is 24 players for PC, I'm going to be quite upset actually. It just shows that they really don't care about PC gamers and only made the game to cater to console players.

We're willing to spend thousands of dollars on gaming computers to take advantage of all the reasons PC's are better than consoles (like having 64 player servers), so why not let us take advantage of them?

And as many of you remember most clan wars where player with 8vs8 or 12vs12 and what we have seen many of the 64-player servers are mostly half-full or having lack of performance.
... I think that if there is a reason that you don't see 64-player server full, IT IS BECAUSE DICE/EA abandoned BF 2 and stopped making patches for the game to keep it up to date/fixed with the problems.

I'm say it again, they abandoned BF 2 for BF 2142 (BF 2142 was their sweetheart and left the BF 2 players in the cold.)
(Note: I have nothing but respect for BF2142, just calling it like I see it.)

By the way, I get the impression that they are trying to make the BF series more FUN for the younger generation. My nephew, is 15 years old and he hates BF 2! Why? Becouse as he says "I thought it would be more realistic, I mean who has to shoot a person, unloads an entire clip in to them and they still walk away!"

Okay, I admit that does not happen all the time, but I KNOW WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT! I have unloaded an entire clip in to someone and they killed me in one/two shots and walked away.

THE POINT IS: there are those out there who want MORE REALISTIC over ALL FUN, ALL FUN is BF Heroes.

Yes, I know that is where the MOD community comes in, "Thank You" Project Reality. :salute:

What they said about 64 slot servers was wrong.

But just take note that there are only about 7,000 people playing right now. This is basically the lowest the population will get during the day. During peak hours the game has at least 20,000 people playing.

I always liked 48 player servers the best.

            Come ON!!

64 player servers are allways empty? yeah right genious... Even though BF2 still have 200 full 64 servers running and a thousand very populated servers with big ammounts of people, including several mod servers that are still full all day long even with the lack of support for the modding community... and it colud be more and more servers and players if they didnt abandon the game to the hackers! come on.. this guy must be smoking the bad one.. or is just a freaking suit who only watch his pocket and nothing else. Bastard.

Anyway, the thing that gets most of the ppl pissed off is the fact that EA is selling this piece of crap as the follow up for Battlefield: 1942, the game that made the battlefield franchise what it is today... BUT IT ISNT!! they are just filling the name with a crappy game wich must be distribuited for free.. just to pay for the rippoff of an unsoported bugged game as BF2, wich was announced with 1000 wonders and finaly it became just 10% of what the publicity and hype promesed.

Do you remember this pre- release BF2 Trailer?

What a load of BS.....i read it like this

              BS EXCUSE
              BS EXCUSE
Then when he got to the part about lame consoles having limited bandwidth....DING DING DING!!!

Theres the true answer and its pathetic. Dice has always been lazy....got the same weapons on both teams because they were too lazy to make new unique weapon models for each team and the never did get effective AA since 1942

                What a bunch of crap.
Looks like that heroes game, and I can't say I'm excited for that one either. :hmm:
They are deviating way too much from what made battlefield good.
What is with the guns and bombs in this game? From the looks of it, they all seem to be smart weapons and guide themselves to their targets. And three classes? So no more teamwork basically? Why stick together when one guy can snipe, take out a tank, shoot down planes and clear a room all by himself. Not to be crude, but how can someone not know how many classes there were in battlefield 1942 when they claim to vastly improve the original system? Three maps??? Also, to be frank, have these guys even played 1942? Do they know why it was such a hit and is still played today with over 600 servers still running? Where is the variety, the vehicles, the weapons? Where are the epic sized battles? Where is all the teamwork? At least we know BF2 will be good to play for a long time yet, such a shame they stopped working on it. At least there are still loads of great mods still being made and improved.

I really wonder what is Dice's strategy.
They kill off a game by cutting all of the support to that game, expecting the community to feast on the scraps of the game and the hard labor of modders, and then Dice can throw a the community a "new" carcass with the BF name stitched to it and expect the community to rush and buy it, for the soul reason that the people who make, claim the game is a continuation to the Battlefield series ?

A poor attempt in my eyes, it reflects what Dice thinks about the community who made it what it is today, that they can just port a console game that doesn't impress anybody by yesterdays standards...

With proper support for the game, attentive ear to the needs and requests of the community, and support to the modding community, BF2 would have been vastly superior and 20 times more popular then it was in its zenith.
                  Just my 2 cents.

Its just sad to read it. It all sounds like another BFH and they try to present it like it was big step ahead...
What about mature players, what do we get, EA? Those games start to insult my IQ.

Well one thing's for certain : they are not only working one BF43 and BC2. DICE is working on other stuff too, but if it's BF-related I don't know. But it is not dismissed either

Link to the blog website (in Swedish but I thought you might like to knopw what the last part really says :) ) "En sista försäkring är att DICE jobbar på flera andra projekt också, hela studion jobbar inte på det här spelet och Battlefield: Bad Company 2."

Agreed, its all well and good making these kind of games for consoles, but its kind of insulting to the 'hardcore' pc market that had followed the series from the start to give them progressively less complex and dumbed down games, each game as it goes is getting less and less content.

                          Hmmmmm...

Make the server size smaller (24) so that it runs smoother and has less drop offs and is less demanding? Nice. :)

A timed replenish system after you've expended all your ammo, so you have to wait a few seconds, instead of running to an ammo crate or begging and pleading to a so-called "Support" class for 10 minutes so he gives you damn ammo box? Excellent. :p

Same with health system, again so I don't have to run around begging and pleading to a so-called "Medic" for a health satchel. Sweet

Everything is destructible to an extent and this is why its a third the size in players so this "does" run smoothly? Awesome! :yay:

The only thing I will say that isn't that awesome is if they make DLC or Add-on packs (Which I am sure they will) it will divide the community like BF2 and the Add-on Packs (Which I bought... but many didn't). Uncool.

BC2 will be just as silly. They are both console ports, so don't look for more than 24 player. Those of you supporting this crap are probably console players too. The REAL BF fans will dismiss this and find a new game to play. Buying this stuff just encourages them.
