I'm fairly sure BF1943 is mainly directed for console players, as a smaller project... and then BC2 will come along and blow us away...

At least I hope so :|

Im going to make a bold prediction, I predict BC 2 will have 64 players on PC and 32 on consoles. I also agree battlefield 1943 may have been a pet project for consoles but it looks very good in my opinion.

Dont forget either, Comic con starts today and they will have Battlefield 1943 there for public play. Maybe someone will tape themselves playing it and post it on youtube.

Don't kid yourselfs this game will require a good computer and it's will be a pain in the *** to host because of the destructible environments. Most of us will have to upgrade our rigs to play this game.

Yeah, it looks like an arcade-style game, but the graphics and the environments engine will work a good deal of PC's over.

It would be super interesting to know what was behind those decisions what makes no sense?
Hardcore BF veterans want ameliorated BF3 and we get some half-product game, with worse specs than BF2? Just curious what was in the minds of developers. If they do release BF3 any time soon, why so many similar games at the same time? In the other hand, its been too long time from BF2 release
to wait more years for BF3. Sure I will give a try to those games, but it isnt exactly the dream come truefor me.

About the video, I didnt see much evolution in the video compared to BF2, except that there is destructible environment. The ppls moving motions still remind wooden dolls. I think modern technology is capable for more than that.
I dream about the game with realistic environment, and flexible engine for modding so smth super good might come out of it.

This is going to be terrible.

i wish someone would ask them the question of whether PC version will indeed be limited to 24 players. why can't they just leave it 24 for consoles and increase it for PC?

oh btw, we need a BF1942 sub forum here now so we can take all this discussion there. same for BC2.

With the new information I don't think increased player limit will help very much.

This is not BF3. This is BF:H... come on, it is too obvious. I don't know what kind of game DICE is playing, but it involves propaganda, false flags, deception. It seems to me that they are using tactics... I'm intrigued.

This looks like fun. Codename Eagle anyone? This is the evolutionary result of that game which started it all.

You know why they haven't been saying anything? Read this thread again and take in all the whiney, sniveling posts and you'll understand why. Folks, we here on the forums don't make the games. Either you like what you get, or you play something else. In the meantime, STFU. And, I mean that with love. lol

We don't makes the games, but we do indirectly pay the developers and publishers. If we're not happy, we won't buy their games, and they won't make any money. I don't know about you, but if I was running a business I'd want my customers to be happy so that they keep buying my product so that I can keep making money. Doesn't that sound like a good idea to you?

I hear you, but your point is...?

If it as to do with "letting them know what you feel" then have at it but I'm skeptical if there's any impact in posting here at TGN.

The games are coming whether they are configured for anyone's particular taste or not. I've just been hearing a lot of negatives and I think it is silly to prejudge. Let's give 'em a try and be smart in the realization that this is not the game we are waiting for.

I know the games are coming out regardless of what any one thinks, but doesn't DICE think that if they made this game differently, they could make a lot more money off of it? The current details about BF1943 are pathetic. You don't need to play the game to see that.

Re: Battlefield 1943: Pacific Officially Announced

Well we (and by 'we' I mean the 'hardcore PC gamers' that they spoke of last year) have been waiting for an announcement for some time, and when that annoucement finally comes, this is what we get? A ported console game and BF1943? If they're still holding out on us despite announcing this, then great (although nobody likes a ****tease), but you'll understand if I don't share your optimism.

And to be honest, they're lucky that people are *****ing about these games and about the BF franchise because it means people still care. It's when people see a game they don't care for and don't complain about it but rather just say, '**** it' and move on; THAT'S when they need to start worrying. Sadly, any more BS like we've gone through this week and that's probably what most of the long-time PC fanbase will be doing.
