Re: Battlefield 1943: Pacific Officially Announced
You know Rhino, I am 85% a huge fan of what you guys have done with PR, it's just the 15% that I can't get with that keeps me away from that mod as much as I would love to tolerate it. That being said I respect the crap out of your work on PR.
I think the comments of someone such as your self regarding this news echo deeper than the average player of BF. This news is tremendously unsettling to me as a long time player.
This is not BF as we know it for the PC, the worry is this business strategy has superseded the art of making a great game and is going to cost the community the art we enjoy in the mods such as PR that keeps us wanting more BF.
It is a sad day.....God I hope I am wrong.Comment

Re: Battlefield 1943: Pacific Officially Announced
Just as i predicted, dice has surprised us all.
I dont see the point in this game... 24 players is just ridiculous. Its like dice is making 3 mediocre games instead of 1 good one. Oh well, business is business.Comment

Re: Battlefield 1943: Pacific Officially Announced
If you watch the movie carefully , Wake Island is a big map, it looks to me like it could easily hold 64 players. Pause it when the bombers are going over the island, and tell me thats all for 24 players only? At worst it could hold us over for a while.....painfully. I also always thought that bad company would be great for pc and bc2 looks promising.Comment

My gut feeling is that they're biting off more than they can possibly chew.
Off to GMod La-la-land...Comment

Re: Battlefield 1943: Pacific Officially Announced
well ive been waiting for years for an up to date WW2 BF game again. I bought all the 1942 expansions and played the hell out of that game. I loved it! Fighting in europe and the pacific, using ships and subs and you actually had effective AA to blow the plane whores out of the sky.
But it is all about gameplay and most people who are fans of the BF series love and respect the original so a remake would be a good move. It cant be a halfass attempt though, it needs to be the real deal. Id buy it in a heartbeat if it was the real deal, tons of maps, 64+ players and was fully supported by EA and DICE.
If they REALLY wanted to make the fans happy, they need to release a badass WW2 AND a modern version. I have bought and enjoyed every BF game so far, even liked BF vietnam! so i would def buy both versions of the game as im not into mods. They just never seem to have the polish the retail games do. As i said, its about gameplay and a return to 1942 balance would be a blast as i honestly felt it was alot more balanced than BF2 is.Comment

Re: Battlefield 1943: Pacific Officially Announced
I own a PS3 and I wont be getting this for the PC! BUT I believe there will be higher player count in multiplayer on the PC of battlefield 1943. I kinda wish it was 32 for the PS3 but oh well. Im not picky. Dont worry guys, Im sure DICE has something more for the PC guys!Comment
