Looks brilliant, can't wait, and as for the time taken, who cares, 3 years, at least it shows they have put their all into it, should be pretty damn sweet

Strupie has created an account with Vimeo, so now the movie is back on Vimeo www.vimeo.com/2654464 :)

Edit: Just noticed Rach's video has been re-published.

who says I was "blaming viemo", all I said is that there policy is a load of crap and is only going to damage there user base.

We had our videos uploaded on viemo way before they put that policy in, they only recently took action on clearing all our videos out.

Do you have any type of evidence or can you support your theory that the user base of Vimeo will be affected by the lack of gameplay videos?

How did you come to this conclusion? Do you have any kind of qualifying statistics that support your view or is this just you pulling a bunny out of a hat?

Maybe Vimeo has stats that show gaming videos are hurting their business model. Did you stop to think about that before you posted?

The Vimeo TOS is very simplistic. You either comply or you get your videos removed.

No I did not as I have other things I prefer to do tbh (like arguing with you :p) but I know a very large part of there user base was "gamers" that had mostly come from stage6, maybe there where getting overloaded with users because of stage6 closing down so they put in this new policy thou from what I can see this is a bad move since all these users are now going to move to YouTube or Xfire since they both have HD now which was Veimos and Stage6's main selling points in the past.

It may benefit them it may not, that they will only really know in the long run but I doubt it can be good for them to loose that huge chunk of there userbase to one of there main competitors.

You should make it more clear, they haven't banned gaming videos outright. They still allow Machinima and stories, but they do not want pointless videos such as gameplay clips or something everyone will simply flame. In effect, they are cutting the crap.

they deleted every promo vid PR's bit along with loads of other stuff including the teaser for this movie which was all hardly crap...

Again, by doing that they are only going to loose there userbase to youtube.

I'm sure if you appealed they might reinstate some videos, but to be honest, finding somewhere else is probably better.

I suspect given the financial crisis, they may be trying to cut the amount of space used on their servers.

Ye already have, YouTube HD which is why I'm saying is where this chunk of there userbase is going to go (or to some other video hoster that dose HD etc).

Can you quantify "huge chunk"? The answer is no....so stop saying or suggesting that the userbase is huge. You have zero evidence to say if it was huge, small, etc.

I made it PERFECTLY clear on page 1.

                          I posted the TOS/guidelines verbatim.

                          # No captures of video games or gameplay, regardless if it is edited or not. Machinima with a story is allowed, provided the story is more than "guys doing exactly what the game was made for (eg skateboarding)". Machinima videos must be properly labeled as such in the video description to avoid accidental deletion.
                          # Video game developers may post videos of their work provided they cite their involvement in the description of the video (maps and mods to commercial games don't count).

so your saying its good business to throw away part of your user base?

if it was so small then vemio would have never needed to make any policy against it in the first place.

The fact of the matter is this, by doing what they are doing they are going to be loosing part (how ever big it may be) to one of there main competitors. So tell me, how can that be a good thing for viemo?

Crappy gameplay videos waste valuable bandwidth....

It doesn't matter what you personally think, it was their decision. They are protecting their brand.

What's wrong with Total Gaming Videos?

protecting there brand or not, they are still loosing part of there userbaseb to one of there main competitors so my point still stands.

They can do what they like, but IMO, its not a wise thing to do. I and I'm sure many other people who use to you viemo will be happy using youtube HD as a substitute and to never use viemo again.
