The rumor gears are spinning fast and furious when it comes to the "Wii 2" or "Project Cafe" or "Nintendo's next-next-gen console."
First is the rumor that the system will only have 8GB of internal storage that can be expanded to higher capacities through the use of SD memory cards. If true, this might put a damper on downloadable titles common to the PS3 and Xbox 360, which can often reach over 1GB in size, sometimes up to 2GB per title.
Next, word is that the storage media for Wii 2 will have a 25GB capacity. To put that into perspective, that's three times the size of a dual-layer DVD and five times the size of the single-layer DVD's that the current Wii uses.
Finally, there are mixed rumors out there about the output resolution of the new console. Some feel as though Nintendo will go "true HD" and offer 1080p support on their console, while others feel as though it will only offer 1080i. Then again, it could be quite possible that the next system from the big N won't offer HD resolutions at all, but that would just be silly, right?
