It's already known that this is a full CG image using in-game assets. I was just pointing out the difference between CG & in-game is clear. But yea we should really get back on topic, I wasn't trying to hijack this thread or anything.

      Just wondering....
will there be any add on for THE SIMS any time soon?

Can someone please post some HD screenshots?

Or do we just return to the original topic here?

      ;-)

I wish EA gave us something more to talk about. They're annoyingly quiet about what else they're doing considering how long it's been since they first announced it.

          DICE:
1.50 is a mix of community feedback and stopping the hacks and the update is definately about securing the game.

It'd have to be game breaking to be a reverted issue since for everyone that wants something changed there is another player that doesn't want it changed.

As for what took so long, thats a difficult one to answer. Battlefield 2142 took a lot of time to get to where it is now and new projects obviously need to be made but now seems the right time to concentrate on Battlefield 2.

@Tasty, that blur your referring to is a post processing effect called Bloom. It' been used in recent games.

All I'm sayin, is countless people thought the screens for GRID were pre-rendered even though Codemasters said it was in-game, it turned out in-game looked just like the screenshots. This game is using an evolved engine from that.
Im well aware what bloom is, and thats not it, its has just been blured in the background.

Interesting; "now seems the right time to concentrate on Battlefield 2."

I still put my money on some kind of promotion link between BF2 and forthcoming Battlefield 3. A veterans program? New game mode in beta testing? I don't know.

Actually that blur technique is similar to what FH2 and PR have when in ironsights, if you look close its blurred around the periferal and in the distance, same way your vision in real life is.

I believe that could be an ingame effect.

Could be just simple depth of field, not added after the screen was taken, Crysis and CoD4 both do that with sights up. (not the PR type, PR just blurs the edges, Crysis/CoD4 take distances into account iirc.)

That's a sign pretty much saying it's not gonna be a feature/fix-filled patch.

I dunno about that, all that means is that its their priority to secure the game, and so it should be.

Not exactly a priority when you're worried about adding features for 2142 instead of working on a hotfix for BF2's security.
