"Winter of this year" - You do realise that's a typo? They mean winter of next year.

After all, they're busy with content for console (Bad Company), and then there's BF:H to build up interest for BF3 (if and when it's released) and between all that you've got Mirrors Edge.

There's just no time for anything BF2 related this year, so it'll be a miracle to see any patch beta or otherwise.

Although, I could knock you up a patch in minutes that alot of people would love the changes, a simple revert to 1.0 pre-nerf of all things fun. Could do the same for BF2142 aswell.

unfortunately cod world at war will kill the numbers of bf2 again. but still, a patch followed by FH2 will make for a glorious Christmas

The PC Gamer article was based around the details in the fake PDF. There was no information in that article that PC Gamer got themselves and nothing has happened since.
