You know Scinto, unlike most of the anti-soloing proponents, I actually put a lot of thought into my posts to make sure relatively intelligent people can be convinced that it's the appropriate position to take on the matter, so for you to simply flag them for deletion with two or three clicks is highly insulting.
Couldn't you just tell us to drop it and leave our posts alone?
nope, because they shouldnt have been posted in the 1st place, this thread is about a new patch for BF2 that got hijacked not a soloing thread,, no-one forced you to post, you didnt have to reply you could have just left it alone.
You guys shouldn't encourage Scinto to eat posts, he loves it.
Back on topic, I'll be disappointed if it's just the one map. I mean, this WILL be the last Battlefield 2 patch, so why not go all out, to round out the 'IMO' Best game that DICE has made to date, and go just a little way to appeasing some of the forum sharks who hate life now, because the blackhawk no work good. :)

you shouldn't have deleted them, you should have just left it alone, you should leave bf2 alone together with these forums, thats not the point, the only reason why you had the right to delete those posts is because they were in the wrong thread
It's not like anybody in this thread is discussing anything of merit, anyway. They're all just making their f*cking Santa Claus BF2 wishlist: if they had been going back and forth over particular patch details, it would've made more sense to remove our posts.
In any case, I still think it's highly insulting for you to just remove our posts. You take your admin rights too far. At the very least, you show a lack of consideration for the energy and effort that goes into people's messages.

Thats still no excuse to partake in hijacking/derailing a thread, post in the right thread and they wont get removed, its that simple.
Really, well if you have such a problem with it PM [MyIS]SpawnDemon or Tren,
I hope that we're not just given a map and a couple of tweaks here and there or i will be quite disappointed. I want at least a couple of different style maps to play on.
- We've had a large scale tank map, it was called Highway Tampa and also, the newest other map, Road To Jalalabad was pretty drawn out. I want a nadefest' map, CQB fragfest like Karkand. One where i can go around with my shock paddles, reviving everyone.
- Special Forces, Armored Fury and Euro Forces mod made available for free, but optional. At the end of the day, they weren't much kop and they were cheap. People can ***** that they'd be screwed out that money but it has been like two years since release, so why not let everyone play it. BF2 isn't gunna make an excessive amount of money anymore, why not leave the community with a nice taste in it's mouth. Warlord is one of the best BF maps i've ever played and a rival for Strike at Karkand if it's made available to the public.
- As far as the J-10 is concerned, maybe some nerfing is required, but people have gone this long with it like it is, so lets not tempt fate by having it nerfed and the american jets end up better.

But apart from those things, suprise me DICE.
I agree, new close quarter urban map is needed, preferably PLA vs USMC (or even better PLA vs MEC!). Also think the boosters should and will be free, I think Special forces is debatable as it's an add-on.
Also not too concerned with the jets as I rarely play on servers with flybois on as they doo my tits in.
The only thing I disagree with is the nade fests. Id like to see the number of nades reduced and say you only get 1-3 from start depending upon kit and resupplies only resupply 1-3 frags.
Other nice tweaks would be :_
Repairs point requirement reduced, so you get 1 repair point for each 50% of vehicle repaired or something, or two points for a 90% repair maybe.
I don't even want to think about a city map until they do something about the claymores. Allow people to crouch/crawl past claymores without setting them off a-la BF2142 please. That would instantly make me want to play SF maps again.
In PR, the kits that have grenades, have four and i think thats what infantry troops in RL carry, so maybe their blast radius or effect should be reduced, ever so slightly.
Having 5 C4 is an inconvience too. Particularly if you're blowing up assets, either have 4 or 6 in my opinion.
Jihad Jeeping, i'd class the same as dolphin diving and bunny hopping, cheap methods to gain kills but it's all part of the game. If you don't do Jihad Jeeping right, you end up losing points anyway.
I'd like them to update Karkand as well, as weird as that sounds. There is quite alot of rooftops in the game, and i think more ladders/means of getting on them should be added, to make things a little more interesting for Anti Tanks/Snipers. At the moment, everyone either places medic and runs around just reviving people when they die, or they sit the same places around the hotel, because it's nearest to the frontline. Karkand has always been a favourite of mine, and it would nice if they would open it up to new defensive/assault strategies.
Destructable claymores, I'm 50-50 on. Basically, because the whole idea of a claymore is usually to protect the sniper, who hasn't got that much firepower as the other kits. But, then it would be a bit more realistic. Im just worried that if they did that, the claymores would serve no purpose anymore. They're an obstacle to work around. Maybe, they could not be destructable but defuseable with the engineer's wrench.
Now, AT Mines. I think if your that close to an AT Mine, You should blow up. I'm not sure of the weight sensitivity on the mines in BF2, but i figure a regular sized person walking over one, (not near it) would be enough to explode it. For arguments sake, lets say within a metre of one. It'd force people to look where they walk instead of just charging in, as well require more skill from the engineers placing them.
My AT Mine and Claymore suggestions are basically, just to give the engineers a little more to do on Infantry only, when apart from the guns, they don't have any other function, like the anti tank.

I'm pretty sure it depends on the situation and the army. I cant say for definate as I'm no expert (que 101 "experts" to correct me), but from what I've heard from mate serving in an infantry uinit in Iraq, British infantry dont get frags as standard issue anyway. There's usually a designated grenidier in the unit or a supply of them at an outpost or something. As I say I'm not entirely sure, and thats not to say the USMC don't get them standard issue, but I've always assumed it would be a low number for weight manoverability issues.
I personally think limiting the numbers readily availble from spawn or without reloading in BF2 is probably the best way of reducing the frag spam. No need to nerf them to reduce their usefulness, just make it a bit more of effort to bother to reload on supplies, and to interupt the constant flow of frag after frag.

I agree it's a bit of a naff tactic and a cheap way to get a kill, I'd prefer to see it out of the game as it was never intended to be used like that, but as you say thre is an element of risk to it. It's just increadibly frustrating when you are participating ina good armour battle against a decent team and then for some no skill kid to come and drive into the back of you and c4 ram you.

Thats ancie idea, Ive often thought of Karkand as being a bit of a waste - and almost as if they inteded to do more with it , maybe have a transport choppers in it or osmething as thres ladders on roofs that aren't accessable. Good idea though.

I dont think i would reduce the effectiveness of clays by making them destructable, it would reduce their effectiveness only if they are used as an offensive weapon as is the case on most public servers. If they are deployed in the proper inteded defensive manor to protect a sniper, they would still be effective. For example thre would be little that could be done about a claymore placed at the top of a set of ladders on on the approach from a narrow alley, or even jsut below the brow of a hill.

Not sure I like this idea, just sounds like more options to spam the map with mines for quick easy kills, rather than promoting tactical play.
